Actor/playwright Jerome Kilty of Weston, Conn., died today at Norwalk Hospital of cardiac arrest. He was 90. Kilty was one of the victims of a two-car crash on Georgetown Road in Weston, on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

After a season of thrilling and diverse programming,The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director), New York City's premier presenter of dance, proudly kicks off its 2018-2019 Fall/Winter Season with the return of the wildly popular NY Quadrille, which had its debut in the fall of 2016. The three-week engagement, performed in a transformed Joyce Theater performance space, is conceived and curated by famed choreographer Lar Lubovitch, and features works by some of today's most acclaimed and celebrated choreographers/companies including John Jasperse Projects, Kyle Abraham's A.I.M, former Merce Cunningham dancers Rashaun Mitchell + Silas Riener, Donna Uchizono Company, and Beth Gill.

This fall, the Lyric Opera Chorus will give two special concerts that will feature the world-class ensemble performing operatic excerpts from Lyric's 60th-anniversary season. Led by Chorus Master Michael Black, the Chorus will perform at Chicago's Fourth Presbyterian Church (North Michigan Avenue and Delaware Place) tonight, September 12 at 7 pm and at Evanston's Alice Millar Chapel (1870 N. Sheridan Rd.) on Saturday, November 22 at 3 pm.

About Face Theatre is pleased to announce its 2013-14 programming, showcasing premiere productions and developmental works that explore gender and sexual identity. AFT's mainstage kicks-off this winter with the return of the hit holiday musical WE THREE LIZAS, featuring a new book and expanded score. In the spring, AFT presents the Chicago premiere of Aditi Brennan Kapil's stand-up comedy play, BRAHMAN/I, exploring gender, culture, mythology and puberty all through the lens of a hijra, an Indian intersex person. Next summer, About Face Youth Theatre investigates the intersection of immigration and queer identity in the world premiere of CHECKING BOXES. AFT's 2013-14 offerings will also feature the OUT FRONT Series, a year-round line-up of workshops and readings of new and developmental works by LGBTQA playwrights, as well as a month-long PRIDE CABARET Music Series in June 2014. The Lar Lubovitch Dance Company announces its 50th anniversary season at The Joyce Theater in New York City, April 17 22, 2018. The season will feature the world premiere of Wanderers as well as signature works from the Company's vast repertory, including Men's Stories: A Concerto in Ruin (2000), performed by Lubovitch's acclaimed Company of dancers. The Company will be joined by the Martha Graham Dance Company and dancers from the Joffrey Ballet, each performing seminal Lubovitch dances in honor of this milestone year.

The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra offered another of its wildly successful pop up concert series at the Bank of Hawaii headquarters downtown on March 28. According to this reviewer's admittedly casual bit of Googling, the first Broadway production based on Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' was playwright Alice Gerstenberg's version, which opened at the Booth in 1915. But undoubtedly there were many other variations before then.

The Tempel Lipizzans, the world's largest privately-owned herd of Lipizzan horses, welcomes horses and riders from Chile-based Escuela Clasica Lipizzana, Latin America's first and only Lipizzan herd, to participate in Tempel Lipizzans' 60th anniversary celebration. Throughout the month of July 2018, the "Lipizzans of the Americas" will together present equestrian dressage performances as part of the Tempel Lipizzans regular summer performance season. After a robust and diverse 2015-2016 season of dance, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director), New York City's premiere presenter of dance, proudly kicks off its 2016-2017 Fall & Winter Season with NY Quadrille, a unique two-week long engagement conceived & curated by famed choreographer Lar Lubovitch, and featuring world premieres by four acclaimed choreographers/companies Pam Tanowitz Dance, RoseAnne Spradlin, Tere O'Connor Dance and Loni Landon Dance Project. The title of the engagement, NY Quadrille, was inspired by the 18th century dance of the same name - a "quadrille" was a dance performed in a rectangular configuration and seen from four sides - therefore, The Joyce Theaterwill be temporarily transformed from September 27 - October 9. Each choreographers' quadrille will be performed in their own program, with each program performed four times over the two week season.

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen has announced the 2016-2017 season roster. A total of 71 dancers make up the Company roster, with 57 in Boston Ballet, the main professional company, and 14 in Boston Ballet II (BBII), the second company. A total of 17 nationalities are represented, with dancers from Brazil, South Korea, France, Georgia, and Australia, to name a few.  More than 32 percent of the main company are BBII alumni and 18 percent are Boston Ballet School alumni. This year marks Principal Dancer Erica Cornejo's final season with Boston Ballet after dancing with the Company for 11 seasons. Cornejo will retire from Boston Ballet in May 2017 with final performances in The Sleeping Beauty.
