On Saturday, April 13, the Martha Graham Dance Company will present a Women's Leadership Program as part of The EVE Project and its Joyce Theater season. The EVE Project celebrates the power of women and the upcoming 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. It honors not only the progress of women in the last 100 years, but also provides entr e into some of today's most pressing conversations about gender and power.

The Martha Graham Dance Company will host its annual gala on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. This special gala evening will honor Barbara Cohen, a Trustee of the Martha Graham Center, for her generosity and service to the company. Proceeds from the gala support the creation of new works and preservation of Martha Graham masterpieces. The event is the nonprofit organization's largest annual fundraiser.

The January GrahamDeconstructed focuses on the extraordinary partnership between Martha Graham and sculptor-designer Isamu Noguchi and two of their collaborations, Herodiade (1944) and El Penitente (1940). The evening will include a rehearsal run-through of both works introduced by a conversation about the Graham/Noguchi collaboration. Following the presentation, the audience will have a chance to explore and photograph the Noguchi set pieces/sculptures.

The Martha Graham Dance Company's NEW@Graham series offers a look inside the creative process of new works commissioned by the Company. On December 18 and 19, the Company will present a work-in-progress showing of choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith's collaborative work for the Company, followed by a conversation with the artists. The Martha Graham Dance Company's spring NEW@Graham event will feature a look inside two works that are new to the Company: Lucinda Childs' Histoire and Lar Lubovitch's The Legend of Ten. For Histoire, Childs has expanded a 1999 duet she created for the Company into a work for eight dancers. The Legend of Ten joins the Company's repertory in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. Excerpts from both works will be performed by the renowned Graham dancers and introduced by Graham Company Artistic Director Janet Eilber. The Company will premiere both works during its New York City Center season in April.

The internationally renowned Lar Lubovitch Dance Company celebrates its 50th anniversary this spring with two programs at The Joyce Theater featuring the world premiere of Lar Lubovitch's Something About Night as well as signature works from the Company's vast repertory. The Company will be joined by the Martha Graham Dance Company and principals from The Joffrey Ballet, each performing seminal Lubovitch dances in honor of this milestone year. Performances are at The Joyce Theater April 17–22, 2018 (Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30pm, Thursday and Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm).

As part of its NEW@Graham series, the Martha Graham Dance Company will host a conversation with critically acclaimed choreographer and filmmaker Pontus Lidberg. The evening will include a sneak peek at excerpts from his new film Written on Water,an impossible love story about a choreographer reigniting an encounter from the past. Dance comprises half of this unique narrative, which features Paris Opera Ballet's Aurelie Dupont in the leading role. The Graham dancers will also perform Lidberg's work Woodland, created for the Company in 2016.

The Martha Graham Dance Company will present a special GrahamDeconstructed event celebrating the 86th anniversary of Primitive Mysteries, one of Graham's most revolutionary works. This stark, ritualistic dance reflects on the purity found in the virgin myths of the Southwest. It was hailed a masterpiece at its premiere and is a prime example of Graham as a leader in the modernist movement. Primitive Mysteries premiered at the Craig Theatre in New York City on February 2, 1931.
