Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director, announced the nine musicals and twenty-six writers selected for the 2014 Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, its fourth year of providing working retreats for musical theatre writers. For nine consecutive weeks beginning June 29th, each writing team will have an individual weeklong residency in Rhinebeck, New York to write their musical. They are provided with a private home, transportation, food, and a stipend. All costs are fully funded by donors including The ASCAP Foundation, The Dramatists Guild Fund, and The Noel Coward Foundation. Writers participating this year include Broadway's Mindi Dickstein (Little Women), this year's Kleban Prize winner Nathan Tysen (Burnt Part Boys), and Peter Mills, past winner of the Kleban, Fred Ebb Award, and Richard Rodgers prize. The musicals' subjects cover 19th century nautical mysteries, 20th century fairy tales, a 1970's gay bar, and modern-day meth addicts. Every score is original and styles include 16th century Renaissance, big band, folk, rock, and electronic music.

59E59 Theaters will welcome the Stephen Joseph Theatre back to Brits Off Broadway with the US premieres of ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES, TIME OF MY LIFE, and FARCICALS: A Double Bill of Frivolous Comedies, written and directed by Alan Ayckbourn. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES begins performances on Thursday, May 29 (Opening Night is Wednesday, June 4 at 7:00 PM). TIME OF MY LIFE begins performances on Friday, June 6 (Opening Night is Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00 PM). FARCICALS: A Double Bill of Frivolous Comedies begins performances on Saturday, June 7 (Opening Night is Tuesday, June 10 at 7:00 PM). All shows run through Sunday, June 29. As Freed is one of the nation's most lauded and respected new playwrights, Artists Rep is fortunate to host the inaugural production of this play. The Monster-Builder is directed by the esteemed and award-winning Art Manke and features a noteworthy West Coast cast.

Oscar nominee and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Sharon Stone (Casino) has signed to play the Vice President of the United States in TNT's new action-drama pilot Agent X (working title).

On January 28 at 7pm, Main Street Theater will present the first reading of local playwright Thomas Hagemann's latest work, 1946. Main Street produced the world premiere of Hagemann's Breakfast at Eight in 2010. This staged reading, which will be followed by a discussion with the playwright and wine and cheese reception, is a Part of the Art Series event at Main Street and will benefit MST's current Capital Campaign to purchase and renovate its Times Blvd. location in Rice Village. Akvavit Theatre presents their second production of the 2013 - 2014 season, Icelandic playwright Bjarni Jonsson's MISHAP!, translated by Hilmar Ramos and playing at The Side Project, 1439 W. Jarvis Ave. The show opens February 20 and will run through March 23. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. There will be a special industry night performance on Monday, March 10 at 8PM.

Today, he is an accomplished airline pilot and has piloted some of the world's most notable celebrities from Paris Hilton and Dave Chappelle to Condoleeza Rice and Danny Devito. Mr. Fett presently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and works for a major airline based out of Chicago, Illinois.
