Unicorn Theatre, under the artistic leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cynthia Levin, announces the 43rd season of thought-provoking new plays. The new season will open September 7, 2016 and include eight regular season shows. Subscriptions for the new season are on sale now. In addition to a full line up of new productions to Kansas City, the Unicorn will also continue the In-Progress New Play Reading Series, bringing scripts in development and under consideration for production in upcoming seasons before the public. Campbelltown Arts Centre has commissioned a significant new contemporary Indigenous theatre work, One Billion Beats examining the historical representation of Aboriginal people in Australian cinema, presented over four nights on 26 and 27 February and 4 and 5 March 2016.

Theatre for a New Audience, Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director, will present William Shakespeare's Pericles directed by Trevor Nunn, featuring OBIE Award-winner Christian Camargo in the title role and leading a diverse company of twenty-two actors. Pericles marks Mr. Camargo's third Shakespeare title role for Theatre for a New Audience, and the first time not only that Trevor Nunn has directed this play, but the first time he has directed a Shakespeare with a U.S. company.  The production begins previews February 14 and opens February 25 for a scheduled run through March 27 at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.

The Gate Theatre announces today that its critically acclaimed production of MEDEA will extend by an extra week.  The production, in association with Belvoir, Sydney and directed by Anne-Louise Sarks, will now run until Saturday 5 December.

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director, Peter Napolitano, Producer/Director of Musical Programming) today announced the line-up for this year's Award-Winning Musical event WINTER RHYTHMS 2015, which will begin Wednesday, December 2 and will feature some of New York's best musical performances through December 13, 2015 at Urban Stages Theatre. WINTER RHYTHMS 2015 marks the seventh year that Urban Stages has brought noted musical artists to its stage during the holiday period. The mission of Winter Rhythms is to bring the talents of known and unknown singers, musicians, lyricists and composers to the attention of the New York theater community while performing at Urban Stages Theater. Winner of the 2015 Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Series MAC Award, WINTER RHYTHMS benefits Urban Stages' acclaimed Outreach Program, which brings more than 200 free "arts in education" presentations to libraries and schools throughout the five boroughs. BroadwayWorld has learned that MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL, the musical celebration of the life of the original 1970s 'Queen of Disco' Sylvester, has been nominated for five AUDELCO Awards, including Outstanding Musical Production of the Year.

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work, led by Tony and Olivier nominee Haydn Gwynne, as well as Broadway's Stephen Bogardus and Lauren Molina. MACK & MABEL, currently playing Chichester Festival Theatre before heading out on a UK & Ireland Tour this autumn, is transferring to the West End later this year. And, according to the New York Post, if the musical -- starring Michael Ball and Rebecca LaChance -- does well in London, it could be moving to Broadway next season.
