Houston Ballet is closing their 2013-2014 season with a gorgeous revival of Stanton Welch's SWAN LAKE. Settling in for the lengthy production, I could barely contain my excitement. Impressed as I was by the show, I discovered that Darren Aronosky's Black Swan left me with expectations for the ballet that were not delivered.

The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming. Nearly 100 free performances will take place across the plazas of Lincoln Center during three weeks. A special Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger on July 20 will be followed by the official opening concert on July 23 with Larry Harlow's Hommy: A Latin Opera, the landmark work's first performance in 40 years. tiger princess dance projects (tpdp) presents SoloDuet, an evening of two heart-stopping new works that explore identity and its fluidity. Both premieres are choreographed by tpdp Artistic Director Yvonne Ng in collaboration with the artists: celebrated dancer Mairead Filgate who partners with former acclaimed Toronto Dance Theatre member Luke Garwood for the duet and another beautiful former TDT dancer, Linnea Wong, who dances the solo. This striking program runs Tuesday, May 6 to Saturday May 10 at The Theatre Centre.

In January 2012, something remarkable happened at the prestigious Theatre Royal Haymarket in London, UK. After lengthy workshops with over 30 medically discharged military personnel and a professional playwright and director, a new play entitled THE TWO WORLDS OF CHARLIE F was unveiled at two fund-raising evenings. The audience, which was comprised of many of the UK's leading actors, theatre practitioners and seasoned theatergoers, was astonished to witness such a powerful and unforgettable examination of the cost of war. The response was so great that the show was taken to the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it too received standing ovations, five-star reviews, full houses and was awarded the festival's coveted Amnesty International Award for Freedom of Expression.

For the third quarter of 2013, reported U.S. GAAP net income, which included impairments of $203 million partially offset by unrealized gains on fuel derivatives of $64 million, was $934 million, or $1.20 diluted EPS. For the third quarter of 2012, reported U.S. GAAP net income, which included unrealized gains on fuel derivatives of $136 million, was $1.3 billion, or $1.71 diluted EPS. Revenues for the third quarter of 2013 were $4.7 billion, in line with the prior year.

The world premiere of Wendy Whelan's Restless Creature, an evening-length suite of dynamic contemporary duets, will take place at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre, August 14-18. Each with his own unique style and artistry, the four contemporary choreographers of Restless Creature: Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Alejandro Cerrudo, will perform alongside 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina' (Claudia La Rocco, The New York Times) only at Jacob's Pillow this summer.
