Following two hugely successful runs at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, To Kill a Mockingbird will return to London from 24 June until 25 July 2015 at the Barbican, at the end of the forthcoming UK tour. Broadway's favorite leading man, Brian Stokes Mitchell, opens Segerstrom Center's 2014 - 2015 Cabaret Season with his one-man-show Simply Broadway on Friday, October 10 at 8 p.m. in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. For his return visit to the Center, the dashing Tony Award-winning artist with the captivating baritone voice will perform some of his favorite Broadway songs from Camelot, Porgy and Bess, Company, Sunday in the Park with George, Les Miserables and many more. He will be joined by pianist Tedd Firth. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill opens tonight on Broadway. Lady Day stars five-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald under the direction of Lonny Price (110 in the Shade, A Class Act), will play a strictly limited 10-week engagement with only 70 performances at the Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway, on 50th Street btwn. Broadway and 8th Ave.).

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of THE TEMPEST, produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at The Smith Center in Las Vegas today, April 5-13, 2014. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, THE TEMPEST is adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. THE TEMPEST will perform at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate controlled tent before moving to Cambridge, MA to begin performances at A.R.T.

According to Arkansas Online, Broadway star Lawrence Hamilton passed away yesterday at age 59 due to complications from surgery. Hamilton was born in Arkansas in 1954. Aside from performing on Broadway, he also studied Music Education and taught as a professor.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that talks are indeed currently underway with five-time Tony winner Audra McDonald to bring her back to the stage as legendary songstress Billie Holliday in a revival of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. The show will reportedly play at the Circle in the Square Theatre, where current occupant Bronx Bombers will close on March 2, 2014. An official announcement has not yet been made, but sources tell us that a deal, dates and release is 'imminent.'

The Center for Contemporary Opera (CCO) is proud to pay tribute to composer Hans Werner Henze, who died in 2012 at the age of 86, with performances of his El Cimarron (The Runaway Slave), featuring baritone Eric McKeever in the title role. Not performed in New York since 1986, El Cimarron has music direction by Sara Jobin, and stage direction by Eugenia Arsenis, singled out as stage director by Miguel Barnet, author of the book upon which the opera is based. Performances are January 16 & 17, 7:30 PM, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Theater, Broadway & 95th Street, NYC (entrance on 95th Street, West of Broadway)
