The producers of the Broadway concert ROCKTOPIA are thrilled to announce that multi-platinum Rock and Roll Hall of Famer ROBIN ZANDER, lead singer of CHEAP TRICK, will make his Broadway debut as a special guest vocalist in the show for the final week of its limited engagement, April 23 - 29, 2018. The Kitchen presents a multimedia project from Charles Atlas, continuing the institution's nearly 45-year relationship with the video art pioneer. In The Kitchen's gallery, two new video installations take a retrospective look at Atlas' work while offering a counterpoint to his interactive 2003 show Instant Fame! and its portraits of downtown figures (March 28-May 12).

Following the critical and ratings success of last year's “The Story of Diana,” ABC, PEOPLE, and Time Inc. Productions announce “The Story of The Royals,” a four-hour primetime television event featuring the captivating lives of the British royal family. The event, which will air on ABC over two nights in August 2018, will showcase the key figures who represent four generations of the crown:  Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

The Grammy-nominated Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, which captures the infectious fun of big band music, will perform at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Thursday, April 5 at 8:00pm.  Jazz Times called the Los Angeles-based band, with a 32-year history, "one of current jazz's most vital large ensemble." Co-founder bassist John Clayton is a CSUN alumnus who has gone on to play with superstars such as Michael Jackson, Patti LaBelle and Madonna.

The Shed's Artistic Director and CEO Alex Poots today unveiled the first group of commissions for the 2019 inaugural season in its future home on Manhattan's west side, and provided major updates about the organization's leadership, program, and capital campaign. New York City's first arts center dedicated to commissioning, producing, and presenting new work across the performing arts, visual arts, and popular culture, The Shed will open to the public in spring 2019 with commissioned programs filling its iconic and expansive multi-use hall, two floors of column-free galleries, and versatile and intimate theater.

Neil Young is set to release one of the most sought-after recordings from his vast archives, Roxy – Tonight's The Night Live on three-sided 2LP set exclusively on Record Store Day, April 21st.  This was the first public performance of many of the songs that would make up Young's seminal album Tonight's The Night, which would not be released until June 1975. The album's final track “Walk On” would not appear until the release ofOn The Beach, in July 1974.

The poignant drama will be directed by Jim Jack, who will be helming his second GSP mainstage production following the widely acclaimed 2016 production of My Name is Asher Lev.

Through the generosity of Jackie Autry, the McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of The Beach Boys for two performances on Sunday, March 4, at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.

2018 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS Sets Live Broadcast For Tuesday 10/9 On ABC

ABC and dick clark productions announced today that the “2018 American Music Awards,” the world's largest fan-voted awards show, will broadcast live on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9 (8:00–11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

The Garifuna people and culture were created by one of the most dramatic ethnic mixings in history: two ships with enslaved Africans were shipwrecked off the coast of what is now St. Vincent and the Grenadines toward the end of the 18th Century, and with the help of the indigenous Carib-Indian population, overpowered the Spanish crew and escaped. Later, due to their continued resistance and rebellions against the British, their mixed progeny would then be exiled to the islands off the coast of Honduras. Instead of being isolated and dying off, their culture and oral language prospered and expanded into the Central American countries of Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, where they still live.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) today proudly announced that Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, stars of television, film and stage and Sid and Marty Krofft, two legendary television producers, will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards this year during the Daytime Emmy® Awards.  The Krofft Brothers will be celebrated at the 45th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards which will take place on Friday, April 27th, 2018, while Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes will be celebrated on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at the 45th Daytime Emmy® Awards.  Both presentations will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Southern California.

Iconic screenwriter-director-producer James L. Brooks, whose acclaimed films include Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, and As Good As It Gets, has been named the recipient of the Writers Guild of America West's 2018 Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement in recognition of his extraordinary career and body of work.

Victory Gardens Theater announces Jess McLeod and Aaron Todd Douglas as the 2018 Next Generation Fellows. Beginning in February 2018, the Next Generation Fellowship will provide comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level. The program is made possible by a generous grant from The Field Foundation of Illinois.

Mark Moraghan, Stephanie Dooley and Alan Stocks have been confirmed to join the cast of Lennon's Banjo, joining fellow actors Eric Potts, Jake Abraham, Lynn Francis and Roy Carruthers in a comedy play that is already making headlines around the world. Lennon's Banjo makes its world stage premiere at Liverpool's Epstein Theatre in April.
