South Coast Repertory kicks off the 2009-10 Season with Putting It Together, a compilation of Stephen Sondheim songs, that the composer put together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, creating a narrative set at a cocktail party in an elegant Manhattan condo. The non-traditional musical, led by Broadway and television star Harry Groener, has a cast of five (a glamorous but slightly jaded couple, a starry-eyed younger couple and a savvy observer) who sing more than 30 songs that reflect their lives, lifestyles and moods of the moment. Some of the songs will be familiar, some less so, a few were even cut from their original musical scores, but they are all sophisticated, smart and drop-dead droll. All, in other words, Sondheim.

People's Light & Theatre Company kicks off their 35th Anniversary Season with the American Premiere of NATHAN THE WISE translated by Edward Kemp from the play by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Directed & choreographed by Robert Longbottom, Bye Bye Birdie has a book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. Roundabout is proud to welcome back three artists who have previously worked at the theatrical institution: John Stamos, Gina Gershon and Bill Irwin.

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the Shakespeare in the Park production of TWELFTH NIGHT, directed by Daniel Sullivan and featuring the previously announced Anne Hathaway as Viola. The company announced a vibrant season leading off with an extensive New Works Festival that will draw national artists to the area; a World Premiere musical to be directed by the Tony Award-winning director of Les Miserables; two West Coast Premieres; two Regional Premieres, and two classics brought to the stage.

The stage and screen actress KATE MULGREW has joined 'Harry Potter' star DANIEL RADCLIFFE and the Tony Award-winning actor RICHARD GRIFFITHS ('The History Boys') -- in the cast of Peter Shaffer's Tony Award-winning play EQUUS, coming to Broadway this fall with previews starting previews September 5th prior to opening September 25th at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44 St.), it has been announced.

Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths will reprise their starring roles from the enormously successful 2007 London production of Peter Shaffer's EQUUS when the Tony Award-winning play begins previews September 5 and opens September 25, 2008 on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Yvonne De Carlo, the beautiful brunette actress whose performance in Follies immortalized her as a theatre star, has passed away at the age of 84
