Out of the Box Theatrics has announced a return engagement for its site-specific production of the Broadway musical Baby, starring Tony Award winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal). The production, directed and choreographed by Mr. Paulini, will play from April 17 through May 10, 2020 in a 60-seat loft at Theatrelab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor). Opening night is Monday, April 27.

Hangmen is officially in previews on Broadway!
Martin McDonagh's Hangmen marks McDonagh's seventh play to be produced on Broadway and his return to the stage following his BAFTA and Golden Globe Award-winning and Oscar-nominated film Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri. Hangmen will officially open on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Broadway's Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

The House Theatre of Chicago will extend Verböten, the company's second main stage production of its 18th season. Heavy Pettin' first stirred into action when vocalist Hamie, guitarists Gordon Bonnar and Punky Mendoza, drummer Gary Moat and bassist Brian Waugh first burst out of Glasgow in 1981. They were vibrant, priapic, anthemic and focused. As they showed on a three-track demo, and on the subsequent debut single for independent label Neat ('Roll The Dice'__/'Love Xs Love'), they were more than mere Def Leppard slaves. In fact, the Pettin' had an international sound that owed something to AC/DC, UFO, Thin Lizzy and Foreigner, but also had its own raging momentum.

The 37th Schwabacher Recital Series continues on Wednesday, March 4, with its second performance of 2020. San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows Simone McIntosh and Zhengyi Bai take the stage at San Francisco's Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater for a musical exploration of love and heartbreak, accompanied by Robert Mollicone on the piano. Their program will spotlight Olivier Messiaen's rarely performed Harawi, Richard Strauss' beloved Opus 27 songs and selections from Vincenzo Bellini's Sei Ariette da Camera.
