NYU Skirball's 2017-18 season will feature over 45 unique presentations by some of the world's leading provocateurs, artists and activists, performing unconventional and often controversial works in varied spaces throughout the Skirball Center - turning the lobby, dressing rooms, hallways and backstage areas into centers of creativity.

ABC continues its commitment to distinctive storytelling with the announcement of its 2017-18 slate of programming. Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, will unveil the network's new lineup to the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall in New York City.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team of the Globe-commissioned world premiere adaptation of The Imaginary Invalid written by Moliere and reinvented by the acclaimed theatre group Fiasco Theater. Fiasco last delighted Globe audiences with their inventive reimagining of Into the Woods in 2014. This new take on the hilarious classic tale is directed by Fiasco Co-Artistic Directors Jessie Austrian and Noah Brody.

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents the culmination of its expansive and hugely successful second season with the 2017 Voices From a Changing Middle East Festival. This year's festival is of particular resonance in this 50th year since the Six Day War and the start of The Occupation, and focuses on two taut dramas about the lives, circumstances, and humanity of Palestinians in Israel and Gaza.

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

Artistic Director Bradley Hemmings today announces the full programme for this summer's Greenwich + Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London's leading festival of outdoor theatre and performing arts, which takes place from 23 June to 8 July in locations across Royal Greenwich, Docklands and Tower Hamlets.  It follows the previous announcement in March of eight newly commissioned productions.

Los Angeles audiences will discover a new perspective on many timeless classics interpreted through a contemporary lens as they journey through The Music Center's dance season and uncover themes of conflict between female strength and societal expectations.  The 2017/2018 Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center (Dance at The Music Center) season is replete with powerful characters, riveting storylines, modern choreography and theatrics that take the traditional narrative ballet to a new level.  Audiences are invited to venture into the world of dance and experience realms of expression beyond expectation.  The coming season opens with the U.S. premiere of Matthew Bourne's The Red Shoes (September 15-October 1, 2017), a beloved fairytale and Hollywood classic where life imitates art, presented by Dance at The Music Center and Center Theatre Group. 

Flux Theatre Ensemble will present the New York City premiere of World Builders by Johnna Adams (Gidion's Knot, Sans Merci, The Angel Eaters Trilogy) April 28 - May 13 at the West End Theatre (263 W 86th St, New York, NY 10024). The production will be directed by Kelly O'Donnell (Marian, Jane the Plain, Dog Act) and will feature August Schulenburg (Hearts Like Fists, Flux), and Alisha Spielmann* (Sans Merci, Flux). *Appears courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces nine productions of the 2017/18 Season-which will engage audiences with timeless stories in transformational settings. The season also marks the introduction of the Theater's new and innovative third performance venue, The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare. Additional productions are to be announced this summer.

Producer Mark Cortale and creative partner Seth Rudetsky have quickly - and not so quietly - made their Broadway @ series the most sought-after ticket to see Broadway's musical mega-stars in concert.

Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE, the co-world premiere of a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Obie Award winner Kirsten Childs (The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin at Playwrights, Miracle Brothers). 

McCarter Theatre Center closes the 2016-2017 Theater Series with a new production of Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, a story of an African-American seamstress living in 1905 New York City pursuing her dreams of love and independence. Directed by Jade King Carroll, Intimate Apparel will run from May 5 to June 4.

Syracuse University has announced that the Martin Bandier Program will move to the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where it will continue to provide an interdisciplinary curriculum in music business and media studies as well as the liberal arts.

It's Broadway baby! Pacific Symphony Pops brings two award-winning Broadway superstars—Megan Hilty and Brian Stokes Mitchell—together on one stage to deliver an evening of unforgettable music from the Great White Way. With stunning voices and booming careers on Broadway, television and concert stages, Hilty and Mitchell join the 88-piece orchestra to bring fresh insight to a program of Broadway hits and memorable melodies that have become timeless standards, including music from Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. Hilty dazzles with songs such as Gershwin's “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “They Just Keep Moving the Line” from the NBC-TV series “Smash” and “The Rainbow Connection” from her album “Live at the Cafe Carlyle.” Then, Mitchell takes the stage with masterpieces such as “Stars” from “Les Misérables,” “The Impossible Dream” from “Man of La Mancha,” “It Ain't Necessarily So” from “Porgy and Bess,” and the ultimate lounge tune, “Feeling Good.” 

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is excited to announce the nominations and host for TUTS' 15th annual Tommy Tune Awards, which will be held on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

LA Opera professional artists will once again collaborate with nearly 500 amateur members of the Los Angeles musical community to present two performances of Benjamin Britten's Noah's Flood this spring at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Conducted by LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, the performances will take place at 4pm and 7:30pm on Saturday, May 6. The Cathedral is located at 555 West Temple Street, Los Angeles CA 90012.

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents South Africa: Then & Now, a dynamic spring repertory that takes audience members back to the depths of Apartheid, before moving forward to the ongoing search for truth and reconciliation in a wounded country. The repertory launches with Athol Fugard's seminal masterpiece, BLOOD KNOT (March 29-April 30, 2017)-an intimate parable about a brotherhood devastated by the constraints of Apartheid-under the direction of Studio Theatre Founding Artistic Director Joy Zinoman, making her Mosaic Theater Company debut.

Acclaimed box office star, producer and humanitarian Richard Gere will open the 34th edition of Miami Dade College's Miami Film Festival on March 3, 2017, followed by an Opening Night Gala screening of his new film, Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer, directed by 2-time Oscar-nominated Israeli filmmaker Joseph Cedar, with the KORBEL Opening Night Party to follow at Miami's Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building.

Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl, winner of the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award and a MacArthur 'genius' grant, will be directed by Courtney O'Connor at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, opening February 26 and running through March 26, 2017. Previews begin February 24.
