Classic Stage Company's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE Will Feature Elizabeth A. Davis, Mary Testa and More

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a new production of Bertolt Brecht's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE featuring Christopher Lloyd (Azdak), directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE will begin performances Friday, May 3 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 9. The official opening is Thursday, May 30. Tickets are now on sale.

Khmer Arts Ensemble of Cambodia Presents A BEND IN THE RIVER at the Joyce, 4/9-14

The Joyce Theater will welcome Khmer Arts Ensemble, under the artistic leadership of the acclaimed choreographer and dancer Sophiline Cheam Shapiro, back onto its stage for one week this spring - from April 9-14 - presenting the New York premiere of A Bend in the River, a contemporary fable. Based on the Gospel of Matthew and written by Stephen Schwartz ('Wicked') and John-Michael Tebelak, 'Godspell' features a rock score that includes popular songs like 'Light of the World,' 'Day by Day' and 'Turn Back, O Man' to tell a timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love.
