GOOD CHARLOTTE today announced that they will release their anxiously awaited seventh full-length studio album, Generation Rx, on September 14, 2018. It marks the first record to be released under the newly minted global partnership between the band's MDDN label and BMG. The House Theatre of Chicago announces its 17th season of creating "Amazing Feats of Storytelling" with productions taking place at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St. The 2018 - 19 Season features three world premiere titles, and two returning audience favorites, creating a diverse slate of epic stories and stagecraft.  The season opens with a brand-new work written by guest artist Bennett Fisher, and helmed by guest artist Monty Cole. Borealis is a brother/sister adventure story offering a heartfelt look at the way we fail each other by building narratives to support our pre-existing worldviews. Borealis plays at the Chopin August 30 to October 21. In the spring, The House will premiere Pinocchio adapted for the stage by Company Members Joseph Steakely and Ben Lobpries, and directed by Company Member Chris Mathews. Pinocchio's wish to become a 'real boy' invites us to reconsider definitions of identity. Pinocchio plays at the Chopin from March 28 to May 19, 2019.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.

This August, New York City will host the first ever Classical Bridge, an international music festival, academy and conference designed to build bridges through the music. Scott Wheeler's opera, The Sorrows of Frederick, will be seen at Brooklyn's Irondale Center on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 8pm. Act 1 of this two-act opera is being presented as part of Center for Contemporary Opera's Development Series. The libretto is by Romulus Linney. Mark Shapiro conducts and Beth Greenberg is the stage director with Keith Phares singing the title role of Frederick.

At the 11th Annual Festival Concert, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra's PRYSM (Philadelphia Region Youth String Music) and PRYSM-YA (PRYSM Young Artists) ensembles will perform, demonstrating their outstanding musical talent. The concert will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. and will be held in Centennial Hall at the Haverford School, located at 750 Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, PA.

According to US Weekly, hit boy band *NSYNC has reunited this morning to receive their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All five original members - JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick- were present for the ceremony. Read more about it from US Weekly here!

The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) continues its intimate "Jazz Club" performances with jazz trumpeter Amir ElSaffar and his Two Rivers Ensemble on Thursday, April 26 at 8:00pm. ElSaffar was born to an American mother and an Iraqi father. After studying classical music in the U.S. and Iraqi maqam music in Baghdad, he forged his own path by mixing ornaments and microtones from Arab music with melodies and harmonies from the West. His unique fusion has won him accolades from DownBeat magazine and rowdy ovations at the Newport Jazz Festival.

According to Variety, *NSYNC will receive a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

The Italian Academy Presents Re-Inventing BACH, a unique, out-of-the-box duo recital featuring the unexpected combination of flute and violin performed by violinist Elissa Cassini and flutist Roy Amotz.

REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite. 

The Pasadena Symphony continues its 90th season on Saturday, March 24th with Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini at Ambassador Auditorium with performances at 2pm and 8pm.  Music Director David Lockington will lead this mesmerizing program filled with mystery and intrigue, opening with Alexander Miller's contemporary puzzle overture Scherzo Crypto, and closing with an even more cryptic work - the Enigma Variations of Elgar. The program centers around a classic Rachmaninoff melody, with his virtuosic Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini performed by brilliant pianist Andrew von Oeyen.

New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

Damian Woetzel continues his innovative interdisciplinary series uniting artists from across fields in a special one-night only performance, March 7 in the Terrace Theater. Part of the inaugural DIRECT CURRENT, the Kennedy Center's two-week celebration of contemporary culture, this installment of the multi-genre series will present recently commissioned works, including a world premiere, and Washington, D.C. premieres by some of today's most creative and groundbreaking voices in dance and music.

Grammy-Award winning American organist Paul Jacobs will appear as the featured soloist in three organ concertos with conductor Julian Wachner and his NOVUS Orchestra at Trinity Church Wall Street (75 Broadway, New York, NY 10006), Thursday afternoon, February 22nd, 2018, 1 pm. The program will include Francis Poulenc's Concerto for Organ, Timpani and Strings in G minor; the New York premiere of Christopher Rouse's Organ Concerto; and Julian Wachner's 'Logos,' the first movement of his Triptych for Organ and Orchestra.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces two performances presented by Carnegie Hall in Zankel Hall during the 2018-2019 season. In 2018-2019, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, ACO continues its commitment to the creation, performance, preservation, and promotion of music by American composers, with programming that reflects the infinite ways American orchestral music illustrates geographic, stylistic, gender, and racial diversity. ACO's concerts at Carnegie Hall include premieres by 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winner Du Yun, by composer and Imani Winds flutist Valerie Coleman, and by Alex Temple, a composer who integrates love for pop culture and the Western classical tradition. Additional 2018-2019 performances and activities will be announced in March 2018.

California Symphony presents two performances of MOZART REQUIEM at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek on Saturday March 17th at 8pm and Sunday March 18th at 4pm. This is the third of three concert sets in the Symphony's 2017-18 season to offer patrons a Saturday evening option in Walnut Creek, catering to rising demand for professional grade performances within easy reach of discerning East Bay consumers of culture and the arts.  Diablo Regional Arts Association is the presenting sponsor of the California Symphony's Saturday night concert series, with media support provided by BARTable.

Frostburg State University will host its third annual Summer Music Academy from Sunday, July 22, through Sunday, July 29, featuring guest instructors and artists from top musical ensembles. The academy promotes classical music education, and the goal is to develop individual musicianship for string, woodwind, brass, piano and voice in a supportive environment.
