The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has released new production images featuring the previously announced new cast of the multi-award winning show, which is now playing its eighth year in the West End having opened at the Cambridge Theatre seven years ago today on 25 October 2011.

AN ATTEMPT TO HEAL IN THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD, a new dark comedy about Wilhelm Reich, one of the most radical figures in the history of psychiatry, will have a limited engagement run from Tuesday, October 16thto Friday, October 28thas part of FringeNYC's 2018 lineup. The production is written and directed by David E. Tolchinsky.

Production images are today released for the world premiere of Vulcan 7, a new comedy written by and co-starring Adrian Edmondson and Nigel Planer, well known for the BRIT award-winning cult classic The Young Ones and The Comic Strip Presents… The cast is completed by Lois Chimimba (Common, wonder.land) with Steven Marmion directing.

Gina Beck will continue to play Miss Honey, having joined the company in September 2017. The Philadelphia Orchestra had not finished its residency before Bravo! Vail Music Festival Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott took to the stage to announce that the exemplary orchestra would be back in 2019 for the summer classical music destination's debut opera production: Puccini's Tosca. The Canadian Opera Company welcomes American bass-baritone Christian Van Horn to the cast of this spring's production of Anna Bolena, making his role debut as Enrico VIII. Van Horn steps in for Eric Owens who, regrettably, has withdrawn due to health issues. Moldovan bass Oleg Tsibulko will sing the part of the Emperor in The Nightingale and Other Short Fables, while Canadian bass Michael Uloth now performs the role of The Bonze.

Last night Tim Minchin paid a visit to Leicester Curve to watch Matilda: The Musical. Tim, who composed original songs for the musical, went to support the musical as it heads on its UK tour. After the show he enjoyed drinks with the cast and crew.

Today, Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef was named Artistic Director of Santa Fe Opera by incoming SFO General Director Robert K. Meya, effective October 1, 2018. The announcement followed Meya's own appointment this morning by the SFO Board of Directors, along with English conductor Harry Bicket as Music Director. Neef will continue in his position as COC General Director, in addition to this new seasonal role.
