The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new child casting for the Matilda The Musical UK and Ireland Tour with Sophia Ally and Scarlett Cecil joining Annalise Bradbury and Nicola Turner in sharing the title role of Matilda from 29 August. The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its seventh year and is booking until 20 October 2019.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has announced new casting with Hayden Tee playing Miss Trunchbull alongside Rob Compton and Holly Dale Spencer as Mr and Mrs Wormwood. Gina Beck will continue to play Miss Honey, having joined the company in September 2017. Isobel Hubble and Francesca McKeown will join Sarah Munday and Olivia Wells in sharing the title role of Matilda. The multi award-winning production is currently playing its seventh year in the West End and is booking until 20 October 2019.

The Philadelphia Orchestra had not finished its residency before Bravo! Vail Music Festival Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott took to the stage to announce that the exemplary orchestra would be back in 2019 for the summer classical music destination's debut opera production: Puccini's Tosca. The exquisite, outdoor Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater will be transformed as never before for two performances of Tosca on July 11 and 13, 2019. The unprecedented production for Bravo! Vail will reunite The Philadelphia Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin with Director James Alexander and production company Symphony V, whose imaginative design will transport audiences to 1800s Rome. Jonathan Church Productions and Theatre Royal Bath Productions in association with Yvonne Arnaud Theatre are delighted to announce brand new comedy Vulcan 7 written by and starring Adrian Edmondson and Nigel Planer, directed by Steven Marmion which will premiere this autumn before embarking on a UK tour. Vulcan 7 will open on Wednesday 19 September in Guildford and tour to Cambridge, Newcastle, Bath, Richmond, Malvern and Edinburgh.

The Canadian Opera Company welcomes American bass-baritone Christian Van Horn to the cast of this spring's production of Anna Bolena, making his role debut as Enrico VIII. Van Horn steps in for Eric Owens who, regrettably, has withdrawn due to health issues. Moldovan bass Oleg Tsibulko will sing the part of the Emperor in The Nightingale and Other Short Fables, while Canadian bass Michael Uloth now performs the role of The Bonze.

Today, Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef was named Artistic Director of Santa Fe Opera by incoming SFO General Director Robert K. Meya, effective October 1, 2018. The announcement followed Meya's own appointment this morning by the SFO Board of Directors, along with English conductor Harry Bicket as Music Director. Neef will continue in his position as COC General Director, in addition to this new seasonal role.

Miss Nightingale, will make its West End debut at the prestigious Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino in London's Leicester Square, for a strictly limited seven-week run in their 180-seat theatre, from 21 March - 6 May.
