HAMLET With Jude Law Begins Performances 9/12

Performances begin tomorrow night, Saturday, September 12th, for the critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of William Shakespeare's HAMLET with Jude Law in the title role, directed by Michael Grandage. The production opens October 6 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). HAMLET will play a strictly limited run of 12 weeks only.

Abingdon Theatre Company -- which has produced nearly 60 new American plays in its 16-year history -- launches its 2009-2010 Off-Broadway Season with the world premiere of INVENTING AVI, a new comedy by Robert Cary and Benjamin Feldman, set to begin previews on October 2 at the Abingdon Theatre Complex (312 West 36th Street).

Producer Arielle Tepper Madover and the Donmar Warehouse are pleased to announce the complete Broadway cast for William Shakespeare's HAMLET, with Jude Law in the title role, directed by Michael Grandage. The production will begin performances at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Saturday, September 12 for a strictly limited run of twelve weeks only. Opening night is Tuesday, October 6.

Four-time Tony Award winner Tom Stoppard returns to the Alley with Rock ?n' Roll, winner of London Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best New Play. It's August 1968, and Russian tanks are rolling into Prague. Jan, the Czech student, lives for rock music, Max, the English professor, lives for Communism, and Esme, the flower child, is high. By 1990, the tanks are rolling out, the Stones are rolling in and idealism has hit the wall.

Emmy-nominated Paul Anthony Stewart stars as Raskolnikov in a gripping 90-minute adaptation of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment at The Cleveland Play House. In addition to numerous New York and regional theatre roles, Stewart, who was nominated for his recurring role on 'Guiding Light,' recently appeared on Broadway in the revivals of Fiddler on the Roof and Cyrano - The Musical. Performed with only three actors, the adaptation of Crime and Punishment by Marilyn Campbell and Cut Columbus is being helmed by the acclaimed director of the 2005 Play House production of I Am My Own Wife, Anders Cato. British actress Rebecca Hall was cast as jetsetting Caroline Cushing, one of the few women who might tame notorious lothario David Frost. Ex-wife of wealthy socialite Howard Cushing, she met Frost shortly before he met with Nixon to propose the interview series; Cushing remained his girlfriend for several years thereafter. A former secretary to columnist Liz Smith, she later became successful Hollywood editor Caroline Graham.
