Theatre Squared Holds Gala for Education, 11/19

TheatreSquared announced today the 2010 Gala for Education, supporting arts-in-education outreach for students and teachers throughout Northwest Arkansas. The annual celebration, a sell-out event in 2009, will be catered by the internationally renowned Chef Mario Maggi, a forty-year veteran of kitchens from throughout northern Italy and the world. This year's event will feature a command performance by acclaimed performer and Northwest Arkansas native Esther Stilwell, who returns to Fayetteville for the second time in her professional career after a starring role in the 2007 national Broadway tour of Spamalot. Sandra Keiser Edwards will receive the 2010 Arts Advocate Award, recognizing her longstanding dedication to arts and education in Northwest Arkansas. The event will be held November 19, 2010, 6:30pm at Savor Restaurant, 2217 College Ave. in Fayetteville. Individual tickets are $100. ELF opened on Sunday, November 14th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). ELF is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and his step-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF!

The Ogunquit Playhouse is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert F. Levinstein to the new position of Associate Producer. Robert has been associated with the Playhouse since 2002, first as the resident Production Stage Manager and then starting in 2008 as the Director of Production. As Associate Producer, Robert will oversee all theatrical operations for the 78-year-old company, named by the press as America's Foremost Summer Theatre.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center raises the curtain on an exciting, expanded 2010-11 season on September 22, 2010 when classical piano superstar Lang Lang returns to NJPAC's Prudential Hall stage, which has been dubbed one of his favorite places in the world to play, as a soloist on two works, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in c, Op. 37, and Liszt's virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, led by Jacques Lacombe in his second performance as the NJSO's new Music Director.
