Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company (MJTC) is pleased to announce the opening of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, directed by Warren Bowles and starring Sally Wingert. On September 23, 2014, Atlanta's Fox Theatre announced a yearlong celebration, dubbed The Legend Lives On, to thank its hometown in honor of the 40th anniversary of 'Save the Fox,' a city-wide effort rescuing the landmark from demolition.

Hale Centre Theatre hosted a ground breaking ceremony Sept. 16, with live performances by past cast members and a 3-D video of what is to be a one-of-a-kind center stage for its new 130,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art theater to be built in Sandy City. Work is now in full force by Layton Construction, at 9900 Monroe Street, between the Sandy City offices and Interstate 15.

Bill Camp (as Reverend John Hale), Jim Norton (as Giles Corey), Tavi Gevinson (as Mary Warren), and Jason Butler Harner (as Reverend Samuel Parris) are among those who will join previously announced stars Ben Whishaw (as John Proctor), Sophie Okonedo (as Elizabeth Proctor), Saoirse Ronan (as Abigail Williams), and Ciaran Hinds (as Deputy-Governor Danforth).

ICT artistic director caryn desai [sic] directs the West Coast premiere of Abigail/1702, opening tonight, May 1 at International City Theatre in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. Two low-priced previews are set for April 29 and 30.

HICK: A Love Story had a sold-out and critically acclaimed run at the Eureka Theatre in SF (July 2014), and was nominated for a Theatre Bay Area Award for Best Solo Production. Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.
