Cabaret star Steve Ross will debut STEVE ROSS ON BROADWAY: Songs He's Always Wanted To Sing and Songs You've Always Wanted to Hear at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, July 7th at 7pm. Mr. Ross' very special guest star will be International icon Liliane Montevecchi, featuring Jesse Bielenberg on bass. The wide-ranging program includes songs by George and Ira Gershwin, Howard Dietz and Arthur Schwartz, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim and others.

Steve Ross, recipient of the 2015 MAC Award for Lifetime Achievement has been a fixture of the cabaret community in Manhattan for over forty years, beginning with his long running star making turns at The Algonquin and Ted Hook's Backstage in the 1970s. Also an accomplished actor, he appeared on Broadway as Fred, the Cockney valet, opposite Frank Langella in Noel Coward's PRESENT LAUGHTER, Off-Broadway in I WON'T DANCE: The Songs of Cole Porter and Fred Astaire, L'AMOUR, THE MERRIER, and on the West Coast as Beverly Carlton in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. Internationally, he has performed in London, Paris, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Melbourne and Sydney as well as cabarets and theatres across America and on the high seas. He's hosted programs on the BBC and

American public radio and was on the lecture/performance roster at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for eight years. Most recently Mr. Ross received critical praise for CHEEK TO CHEEK: The Songs of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, costarring with Karen Oberlin, at 54 Below and at The Crazy Coq's in London's West End, and he returns to Birdland after his SRO appearance in AN EVENING WITH STEVE ROSS, last May.

The Legendary Liliane Montevecchi began her career as Prima Ballerina in Rolan Petit's dance company in Paris, where she starred in a ballet written expressly for her by Orson Welles. She has been painted by Salvador Dali, and was the star of the Paris FOLIES BERGERE for nine years. While under contract with MGM, her on screen leading men have included Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Elvis Presley. She has guest starred in numerous TV shows, and received an Emmy nomination for Child of Our Times. On Broadway she starred in NINE [Tony Award, Drama Desk Award].GRAND HOTEL [Tony nomination], LE PLUME DE MA TANTE, FOLIES BERGERE OF 1964. She has toured the world with her one-woman show ON THE BOULEVARD, and starred in HELLO DOLLY, GIGI, THE BOYFRIEND and FOLLIES: In Concert at Avery Fisher Hall. Most recently she recreated her Tony nominated role as Grushinskaya in GRAND HOTEL: The 25th Anniversary Reunion Concert at 54 Below. Ms. Montevecchi was knighted by the Knights of Malta in 1985, given the Columbus Citizen Foundation's 1995 Woman of the Year Award, was the Boys Town of Italy 2009 Entertainer of the Year, and this winter she will be honored with The Vermeil Medal of the City of Paris by Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris.
