10 / 10
Every now and then, if you’re lucky, you’ll leave a theater with bittersweet but ultimately joyful tears streaming down your face, perhaps wishing you’d worn waterproof mascara. That was my predicament, at least, after catching a preview of “Maybe Happy Ending,” the most original and enchanting new musical to arrive on Broadway in years.
8 / 10
“Maybe Happy Ending” is an undeniably moving, well-made, adorable musical, and it is a pleasant surprise to see an audience weep at a show about two robots in love. The musical makes the bold claim that maybe we are not that different from robots after all, or that they are not that different from us. Just as robots have much to learn from humans, we in turn can learn from them, especially how to care for each other and for ourselves. It’s crucial to know when you need to charge your battery, but likewise it’s important to be willing to share that charger with someone in need.
Jazz vocalist Stella Cole is coming to Broadway as she steps into the role of “Gil Brentley” (pronounced Jill) for a special four-week limited engagement in Maybe Happy Ending.
Zachary Noah Piser and Hannah Kevitt perform 'Hitting the Road' from Maybe Happy Ending aboard a Circle Line Cruises ferry boat circling Manhattan in a new music video.
BroadwayWorld is very excited to bring you an exclusive performance of 'Where You Belong', featuring Steven Huynh and James Seol, performed at the beautiful Laurie Beechman Theatre. Check out the full performance in this video.
