The Dallas Opera has announced that, through the generosity of The Titus Family, a brand-new recital series has been created to showcase well-established singers in programs dedicated to preserving the fine art of “art song.” The series launch will take place tonight, January 4, 2014 in Dallas City Performance Hall (2520 Flora Street, Dallas) at 7:30 p.m.

Usher in 2014 by rolling back the clock at NYC's sexiest party -- Speakeasy Moderne. On New Year's Eve, Tuesday 12/31 at 10pm, get swept up in a world where singers enchant, flappers flirt and dancers dazzle during a special night of live music, dance and cocktails. Located at STAGE 72 on the Upper West Side with host 'Official Hank' Stampfl, Speakeasy Moderne will feature an intoxicating blend of Jazz Age Manhattan, vaudeville, cabaret and a touch of burlesque. As the clock ticks closer to midnight, Speakeasy Moderne will also join the Times Square revelers (in spirit) with a live big screen screening of the ball drop and glasses of bubbly for all.

Guests are invited to the opening of this 'Hirschfeld Spectacular,' where all will enjoy a first-of-its-kind installation. Henri Bendel has worked hand-in-hand with Hirschfeld's exclusive gallery, the Margo Feiden Galleries Ltd., New York, to create a truly unique presentation of the late illustrator's work.

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre proudly announced the extension of its critically-acclaimed revival of Sean O'Casey's JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, directed by Irish Rep Artistic Director Charlotte Moore. With a cast that features, among others, J. Smith-Cameron as Juno Boyle, Ciaran O'Reilly as 'Captain' Jack Boyle, and John Keating as Joxer Daly, JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK will now be performed through Sunday, December 29th on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street).

In 1895, French author Georges Polti wrote a book so well-respected that it would be translated into English in the 1920's and is still being published today. The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations is a treatise that suggests that all fictional and dramatic stories are variations and adaptations of only thirty-six basic plots. Popular local artist Gail Gray decided to visualize through her abstract artwork some of these 36 situations and her interpretations will be on display at the Ware Center beginning First Friday, November 1 from 6 - 8 PM. Gray will be on hand to meet art-enthusiasts. Her exhibit continues at the Ware Center through the month of November. The artwork on the left is Gray's interpretation of Polti's 'Revolt.'

The annual Halloween haunt at Walt Disney Concert Hall features one of the most classic horror movies of the 1920's, The Phantom of the Opera, starring Lon Chaney as Erik, the Phantom, in make-up he famously constructed for the role. The projection of the 1925 silent film will be accompanied by a live soundtrack performed by organist Clark Wilson on Halloween, tonight, October 31, 2013 at 8:00 PM.

Let's hear it for the ladies of horror: those evil, tormented women, who have been inhabited by the devil or perhaps chased by a crazed lunatic wielding a deadly chainsaw. Fear not, your nightmares have been answered as EPIX and FEARnet have partnered to present 'Maidens of Mayhem,' a week-long festival of horror films featuring possessed ladies and the men/women and other entities who love them - or want to kill them. The festival begins on FEARnet today, October 14th and moves to EPIX on Thursday, October 17th with a special presentation of the original Carrie (1976) starring Sissy Spacek on the eve of the latest film adaptation of the Stephen King novel, starring Chlo? Grace-Moretz and Julianne Moore. Following the film, EPIX will present a World Premiere sneak peek at the new movie (see full schedule below).

Multi-Platinum superstars Toni Braxton and Kenny 'Babyface' Edwards are the latest Grammy Award-winning artists set to join the roster of 'Special Guest Star' vocalists in the new Broadway musical After Midnight. With an impressive 16 Grammy Awards between them, Braxton and Edwards will join the company following k.d. lang, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 through Sunday, March 30, 2014. As previously announced, After Midnight will reintroduce the Cotton Club's exciting tradition of welcoming the stars of today in limited engagements throughout the musical's run. After Midnight will begin preview performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) on Friday, October 18, 2013 with an official opening night set for Sunday, November 3, 2013. Tickets for Braxton and Edmonds' engagement will go on sale Monday, November 4, 2013.

The Runaway Stage Productions 2014 Broadway Stage season will include Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein and The Producers, the Sacramento regional premiere of Frank Wildhorn's Bonnie and Clyde, a West Sacrament Community Center Black Box Theatre production of Nunsense A-Men, and productions of Seussical The Musical and Jerry Herman's Mame.
