BWW Review: The Theatrical Reverie that is MARTIN DENTON, MARTIN DENTON
by Kristen Morale - Jul 8, 2017

In Martin Denton, Martin Denton, now in performances at the Kraine Theater over on East 4th, a tag team of mother and son tell the tale of their almost haphazardly formed theater lives with the grace and pomp of any engaging storyteller; you would think they actually had the entire thing planned out the entire time. With such a realistic, almost humble approach to the telling of a rather fascinating story of how these theater buffs paved the way for theater reviewers to come, Martin Denton, Martin Denton is sure to captivate audiences with good, kooky laughs, bittersweet nostalgia and a gained appreciation of just how very important theater is to the structure of this world and the people in it. BWW Review: HIGH SOCIETY at SBCC Theatre Group
by Maggie Yates - Jul 21, 2017

While concepts in High Society may have been viewed as 'kitschy' when the play premiered two decades ago, in the age of Instagram stars and The Real Housewives, these characters, who are charming in their relative innocence as compared to the shameless celebrities of the information age (even our president is a faux-lebrity real estate mogul-turned-reality show host), seem tame. High Society is a pleasant enough way to spend an evening, but it doesn't really go anywhere. There are no risks, no extraordinary thrills: just a very safe presentation of feel-good music from a bygone era. (more...)

Cantando Na Chuva (Singin' in the Rain) is set in the roaring '20s and silent movie stars are the biggest names in the world. Don Lockwood (Jarbas Homem de Mello) has it all, a string of hit films and a studio-engineered romance with the most beautiful actress in town, Lina Lamont  (Claudia Raia). But with the new phenomenon of the talking picture on the way and a chance meeting with Kathy Selden (Bruna Guerin), a talented young chorus girl set to steal his heart, things are about to change for Don and for Hollywood forever. ???????With all the charm, romance, comedy and tinsel town glamour of one of the world's best-loved films, Cantando Na Chuva songs include Good Morning, Make 'em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the legendary Singin' in the Rain.
