The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis) announced today the 2017/18 season, which features 250 performances delivering groundbreaking produced and presented works in dance, music and theater from locally, nationally and internationally renowned artists and companies.

Director Desdemona Chiang makes her Cal Shakes debut, infusing Shakespeare's  romantic comedy with the vibrant, complicated, and shifting energy of the Bay Area.   Berkeley, CA, April 26 - California Shakespeare Theater begins its 43rd Season with Shakespeare's gender-bending comedy, As You Like It. In director Desdemona Chiang's all new production, adaptable and resilient Rosalind must leave everything she knows behind to find her true family.

The Drama Desk Award-Winning TADA! Youth Theater will Present NEW YORK, NEW YEAR A New Musical, from April 29 - May 21, 2017.  Based on the original concept by GARY BAGLEY, NEW YORK, NEW YEAR has book by CHRISTINA FRANKLIN, music by MICHAEL MULDER & lyrics by GARY BAGLEY, with additional lyrics by MATTHEW GREGORY.

The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Möst announce further details of their new production of Debussy's Pelléas and Mélisande, including the complete three-part series of behind-the-scenes production videos.  The impressionistic French opera, with its luminous and hypnotic score, is being presented at Severance Hall May 2, 4, and 6, 2017.  The creative team for this brand-new, made-for-Cleveland production is being led by Director Yuval Sharon working with Set Designer Mimi Lien, Lighting and Projection Designer Jason Thompson, Choreographer Danielle Agami, and Costume Designer Ann Closs-Farley.

On Monday April 3rd, at 12:30 PM, the New York classical music series "PREformances with Allison Charney" will present Metropolitan Opera stars' tenor Todd Wilander and countertenor Jeffrey Mandelbaum in a scintillating concert of arias and duets from masterworks by Bellini, Donizetti and Verdi.  The program will also feature contemporary classical compositions for voice, cello and piano by Michael Ching and Moshe Knoll, performed by musicians of the ARK Trio, soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson and pianist Reiko Uchida. Also featured will be PREformances collaborative pianist Craig Ketter. The concert takes place at the JCC Manhattan, home to the intimate 150 seat Goldman-Sonnenfeldt Auditorium and the Lambert Center for Arts + Ideas.

Albert, announces casting for the Chicago premiere of The Hard Problem by Tom Stoppard, directed by Charles Newell. The Hard Problem runs March 9 - April 9, 2017 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announces its 2017 lineup after completing an immensely successful 2016 season that was repeatedly featured in "Top Ten Productions of 2016" listings, such as The Star-Ledger, The Wall Street Journal, and NJ Arts. The 2017 season promises to be a thrilling one, featuring beloved classics, as well as an epic new work.
