Cheryl Ann Allen will star in two shows this November and December. On November 12 at 3PM she will bring back her beloved one woman tribute Sophie Tucker In Person at the Ziegfeld Society at Lang Hall at Hunter College, 69th and Lexington. Ms. Allen will also return to the stage with her new show she recently debuted called, I'm A New Yorker written and directed by Ian Finkel. I'm A New Yorker will be performed at Don't Tell Mama's (343 West 46th Street) on Tuesday, November 29 and Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30pm. On Her Shoulders is pleased to present a staged reading of two Dualogues highlighting the struggle to define and enlighten the 'New Woman' directed by Melody Brooks, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Doors open at 6:30pm. The Play in Context, which situates the script in its historical time and place, kicks off the evening at 6:45pm. After the Dualogues, we invite our guests to remain for some provocative Dialogue with wine and snacks! This summer, the 33rd season of Long Island's longest-running classical music festival comprises 14 concerts from July 31 to August 28, featuring the signature mix of renowned and up-and-coming artists and classic and new music that has made it one of the most noteworthy summer music festivals in the country.

THE HAIRY APE at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble through July 17 tells the story of Robert 'Yank' Smith, a brutish ship laborer who searches for a sense of belonging in a world controlled by the wealthy elite who he believes only see him as a dirty and hairy ape rather than a real human being. As head coal stoker on an ocean liner, Yank (Haile D'Alan whose incredible and extremely physical performance lifts the entire production to the highest artistic quality) is in his element where he rules his dark, hot, hard-drinking smoky world while managing a group of six other coal stokers who seem to prove their resemblance to simians no matter what they do thanks to the brilliant and totally physical ape-like choreography of their every move by director Steven Berkoff. It's truly a wonder as to how the ensemble manages to keep their energy at such a high level throughout the entire show.

2016 marks the centenary of the year Eugene O'Neill began writing ground-breaking plays in Provincetown, considered the birthplace of modern American theater. This year, the 11th Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater (TW Fest) will offer new approaches to staging O'Neill from the perspective of Tennessee Williams' genre-busting dramas.

Set to Duke Ellington's jazz arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker suite, Act 1 opens on a hoppin' holiday party in a New York City Brownstone at the height of the roaring 20's. At the party, Clara receives a nutcracker doll from her mysterious aunt Drossa Myer. Little does she know that the Nutcracker has a magical spell cast upon it. Later that night the Nutcracker tethers a magical snowstorm that carries Clara on a magical adventure to the 1922 World's Fair in Rio De Janiero. In Act 2, the world's fair, New York City's top cultural dance companies will perform.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that the Academy Award, Golden Globe & BAFTA winning actor Forest Whitaker will make his highly anticipated Broadway debut in HUGHIE, by four- time Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel Prize Laureate Eugene O'Neill. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner winner Michael Grandage, HUGHIE will play a strictly limited engagement in the spring of 2016 on Broadway at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.
