GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! Welcome to Wednesday, May 10, 2017…which prompts us to ask the musical question: Who remembers the Saturday Night Massacre back in the 1970s, during which Richard Nixon fired the special Watergate prosecutor and all hell seemed to break loose (even more than it had already) in Washington, D.C.?

Following an acclaimed 2016 UK Tour, worldwide smash hit musical Footloose: The Musical will burst back onto the stage in 2017, opening the inaugural touring season at Storyhouse, Chester's brand new £37m theatre, cinema and library, from 5 September for one week only.

TACT has announced the 2017 Spring Gala will honor Alice Ripley, Theresa Rebeck, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Nelle Nugent, four distinguished women of the theatre.

 Set in Buffalo, New York, the playwright's home town, Over the Tavern carries us back to the Eisenhower years of the 1950s and introduces us to the Pazinskis - Mom, Dad and their four children, Eddie, Annie, Georgie and, the hero of our tale, 12-year-old Rudy, a precocious kid who's starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. Rudy believes God put us on earth to "have fun," and he's trying to figure out why his family isn't having any. When Rudy goes up against the ruler-wielding Sister Clarissa and announces that instead of being confirmed he'd rather shop around for a more 'fun' religion, all hell breaks loose

???????Full casting is announced today for Footloose: The Musical, which returns next month following a smash-hit 2016 tour. Opening at New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday 21 April, the tour will include a strictly limited West End season at The Peacock, playing for three weeks from Tuesday 12 September 2017. 

Young at Arts,  Westchester's dynamic, performing arts educational organization dedicated to helping young people expand their horizons and build character through music and drama, announce their 12th annual benefit concert on March 20, 2017 at Christ Church in Bronxville, New York. The program will welcome Broadway stars to sing along over 100 select students for a celebratory evening, exploring and performing the works of composer Alan Menken.
