Hit musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors is back, and bringing everyone's favourite carnivorous plant to theatres across the UK in a brand new tour for 2016, opening at Bournemouth Pavilion tonight 4 August 2016. There will be a press night at New Wimbledon Theatre on Tuesday 23 August.

It's a classic fairy-tale. Boy meets Girl. Girl likes Boy. Girl has abusive boyfriend who thrives on orthodontic agony. Boy has abusive plant who thrives on human blood. Boy feeds boyfriend to plant and becomes world famous. Yeah, in hindsight, it's not exactly your classic fairy-tale.

Fisayo Akinade, Sharon D Clarke and Alex Hassell have been cast in Caryl Churchill's new 10-minute play PIGS AND DOGS. Rehearsals start on Monday 11 July 2016. Pigs and Dogs runs from Wednesday 20 July 2016 to Saturday 30 July 2016 in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs. Press night is on Friday 22 July 2016, 6.30pm.

The 70th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 12th at 8/9c hosted by James Corden. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.

The Ogunquit Playhouse sets sail with the delightful, Tony Award-winning Anything Goes June 15 to July 9. This splendid madcap musical comedy stars Broadway's Andrea McArdle as Reno Sweeney and features two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers as Evangeline Harcourt. We continue our look at Austin theatre companies and producers with Andy Berkovsky and The City Theatre Company. In their ten year history, they have been recognized by the Austin Critics Table Awards, the B. Iden Payne Awards, the Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards, Central Texas Live Theatre, and twice have been named 'Best Theatre Company' by Austin American-Statesman's Austin 360. Most recently, Artistic Director Berkovsky was honored as 2015 Best Director by the Central Texas Excellence in Live Theatre Awards. The company is a nonprofit arts organization and is sponsored in part by the Austin Creative Alliance and the Austin Cultural Arts Division. We sat down with Andy to get a little more information about him and The City Theatre as they celebrate their 10th anniversary at the current location.
