The Philadelphia Orchestra And Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra To Perform Free Concert For Chinese New Year

As a gift to the communities of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Orchestra will present a free concert in celebration of the Year of the Pig, joining the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) for a special one-night-only performance in Verizon Hall on January 29, 2019 at 7:30 PM. Assistant Conductor Kensho Watanabe will share the podium with the SPO's Resident Conductor Liang Zhang, leading members of both orchestras in a side-by-side concert featuring the world premiere of the newly revised version of Peng-Peng Gong's Symphony No. 10 ("Peking Fantasy"), a work co-commissioned by The Philadelphia Orchestra and the SPO. Tickets to the Chinese New Year concert are free and can be reserved at www.philorch.org/ChineseNewYear.

Palace Theatre To Reopen November 2 After Complete Auditorium Renovation

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre has received a full facelift of its 2,691-seat auditorium. The first major renovation for the Palace since 1984, the six-month, main-hall makeover included the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the main floor, full refurbishment of balcony seats, and installation of a new LED house lighting system in the dome and main chandelier. The first public performance in the fully renovated auditorium will be Grammy-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan on Friday, November 2.

Ahmad Jamal Quartet Kicks Off Segerstrom Center's 2018-19 Jazz Season

Czech Marionettes Highlight Centennial Heritage Festival With New Works

From October 6 to 27 at the Upper East Side's Bohemian National Hall and Jan Hus Church, GOH Productions will present a Centennial Heritage Festival, featuring mainstage marionette theater productions for adults and kids and musical concerts for audiences of all ages. The festival celebrates two auspicious anniversaries: the Centennial Anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia (1918) and the Millennial Anniversary of the unification of the Lands of the Czech Crown, under Duke Oldrich (1018).

Robert Wagner, the handsome and debonair actor and one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, has been named to be the recipient of the Gold Coast International Film Festival's second annual Burton Moss Hollywood Golden Era Award. Regina Gil, founder and executive director of the Gold Coast Arts Center and its Gold Coast International Film Festival, announced the selection along with members of an advisory board that included such noted celebrities as Joel Grey, Larry King, Richard Thomas, Edwina Sandys, Mrs. Anthony Katherine Quinn, Tippi Hedren, Greg Mullavey, Carole Shelley, Angie Dickinson, Diane Baker, Stefanie Powers and Constance Towers Gavin.

Lifetime Releases Fall Movie Schedule

Lifetime delivers seven movies that fall under the realm of a parent's worst nightmare, tackling topics like mental health, suicide and teen domestic dating violence among others this fall. Starting off with The Bad Seed, the evil that lies within is revealed on September 9th with the disturbing story of a father (Rob Lowe) who discovers his daughter (McKenna Grace) could be hurting the people around her. Patty McCormack also stars.

The Jamie Lloyd Company Announces Further Casting for PINTER AT THE PINTER

Keith Allen, Phil Davis, Paapa Essiedu, Rupert Graves, Gary Kemp, John Simm and Maggie Steed have joined the extraordinary company of Pinter at the Pinter, the unprecedented season featuring all twenty of Harold Pinter's one-act plays, running from September 2018 to February 2019, to mark the tenth anniversary of the Nobel Prize winner's death. The plays are directed by Jamie Lloyd, Patrick Marber, Ed Stambollouian, Lyndsey Turner and Lia Williams, with design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark and Richard Howell, and sound and music by George Dennis and Ben & Max Ringham. Cineworld to Launch 100 ScreenX Locations Across the U.S. and Europe, Marking Significant Expansion of the Immersive Movie Environment

CJ 4DPLEX has announced today a partnership with Cineworld Group to open 100 ScreenX locations at its theatres in the next few years. Palace Theatre Begins Complete Auditorium Renovation Today

Proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre today begins a full facelift of its 2,837-seat auditorium as part of an ongoing $6.5 million renovation. Adjacent to downtown Columbus' LeVeque Tower, the six-month, main-hall makeover will include the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the first floor, and fully refurbished seats in the balcony. As such, the Palace is now closed to the public, and will reopen in November 2018.
