Rubicon's Broadway Musical Concert Series continues with three performances of a concert reading of THE SECRET GARDEN (based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett with Lyrics by Marsha Norman and Music by Lucy Simon.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced a new CheapTix program, which will make all single tickets to the first two performances of every NYTW production available to the general public at $25. The program will kick off with FONDLY, COLLETTE RICHLAND, the first production of the New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) 2015/16 Season. Producer Rick Murray will continue the 2015 Broadway Series in Provincetown, Massachusetts into the fall at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theatre with two Columbus Day Weekend performances by Broadway powerhouse Linda Eder.  Tickets are now on sale for the October 10 & 11 8:00 p.m. concerts, as well as for the remaining acts in the summer Series, including Charles Busch, Kathy Griffin, Shirley Jones, Linda Lavin, and Billy Porter.

Karen Zacarias' new telenovela-inspired comedy Destiny of Desire receives its world premiere at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, kicking off the company's 66th season with dramatic storytelling and comic flair. Zacarias, an inaugural resident playwright of the theater's American Voices New Play Institute whose previous credits include The Book Club Play and Legacy of Light, collaborates with renowned director Jose Luis Valenzuela, Artistic Director of the Latino Theater Company, to bring the Latin-American telenovela genre to life on stage. Destiny of Desire runs September 11-October 18, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.

Going into the theatre, I was excited to see a musical that I love and know very well, but my thoughts changed immediately at curtain call.
