Two Brooklyn opera companies, AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) and OPERA ON TAP, will present the third installment of its Opera Grows in Brooklyn series called OGB: Stranger Than Fiction, an evening of three 30-minute opera scenes and songs from composers Raymond Lustig, Matt Schickele, and James Barry - all based on true stories.

Terrence McNally's script for the musical version of RAGTIME, taken from E. L. Doctorow's popular novel from the mid 1970's, attempts to squeeze as much information out of the book as possible. It succeeds, where the movie adaptation failed, in capturing the full spectrum of Doctorow's work. The Washington University Performing Arts Department, in conjunction with the Black Rep, is presenting a well mounted production directed with considerable flair by Ron Himes.

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-wining Mint Theater Company today announced their first play of the 2009-2010 season, their acclaimed revival of Lennox Robinson's Is Life Worth Living? starring Jordan Baker and Kevin Kilner, would be extended for one additional week to accommodate demand, through October 18th.
