SBCC Theatre Arts Department will begin the fall with an intriguing drama by Sophie Treadwell, MACHINAL. It will run October 20-November 6, 2010 in the intimate Interim Theatre on SBCC's West Campus.

The Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University, will launch its 30th Anniversary season with Moliere's comedic masterpiece "Tartuffe" (Oct. 22 to Nov. 6), directed by The Hypocrites theatre company artistic director Sean Graney.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre for the year 2008. The 40th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 16 at the El Portal Theatre, thanks to the generous donation of the El Portal's management. The theatre is located at 5269 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood. Tickets are $40; $5 off if purchased in advance via PayPal. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a catered reception (with no-host bar) and silent auction. The New York Times is reporting that famed Costume Designer Florence Klotz's Tony Award is for sale on eBay, the starting bid for the trophy at $10,000 (with an option to buy it outright for $20,000). But the Times has a huge inaccuracy in the piece, as they describe Ms. Klotz herself as posting the auction, which is fairly impossible as she sadly passed away in 2006.
