The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville, New York, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in New York State with a new play, 'Seneca Falls,' to debut July 20. Written by Karen Howes, with music by Elliot Sokolov, the play traces the beginnings of the Suffragette movement from 1848 to 1882.

Come From Away, the hit, new musical that began its life and development at Sheridan's Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP) had a strong showing at the 38th annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, presented at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto last night.

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize.

The production, conceived and directed by Rafael De Mussa, includes 'Sancta Susanna' (1911) by August Stramm, translated by Henry Marx; 'The Guardian of the Tomb' (1916) by Franz Kafka (Kafka's only play), translated by J. M. Ritchie; 'The Transfiguration' (1919) by Ernst Toller, translated by Edward Crankshaw; 'Ithaka' (1914) by Gottfried Benn, translated by J.M. Ritchie and 'Crucifixion' (1920) by Lothar Schreyer, translated by Mel Gordon. Performances will be today, September 4 to 21 (opens September 7) at Access Theater, 380 Broadway in TriBeCa.

The production began preview performances on November 19 and opening was last night, December 8 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
