TWO ROOMS is more topically urgent than Lee Blessing's more familiar works, dealing with terrorism and hostage situations that still plague us 25 years after it was written, questioning the roles that our government and our press corps should play when terrorists use their captives as political pawns and bargaining chips.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Don Henley will launch the 'Cass County Tour 2015' following the September 25 release of Cass County, his fifth studio album and first solo album in 15 years. Henley will perform at the Fox Theatre tonight, November 7 at 8 p.m. Singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin will open the concert.

This fall, Sierra Stages presents the groundbreaking musical 'Falsettos' for ten performances only from tonight, November 5 through November 22 at the intimate Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. 'Falsettos' is the final production of Sierra Stages' seventh season, and is directed by Sandra Rockman, with dance direction by George Jayne and musical direction by Ken Getz, who conducts the live band.

New Zealand native Hayden Tee will assume the role of Javert beginning Friday, January 29 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Tee comes directly to Broadway from the new Australian production ofLES MISERABLES, for which he has received wide acclaim. Earl Carpenter will give his final performance as Javert at the matinee on Sunday, January 24 before departing to star in the upcoming Manila engagement of LES MISERABLES.

The Exeter Northcott Theatre and Creative Cow are delighted to announce the cast for their magical new adaptation of Charles Dickens' much-loved Christmas classic.

"Into the Woods" is a very grimm musical - the Brothers Grimm, that is.  Winner of three Tony Awards, Into the Woods is one of the most popular adaptations of some of the best known folk tales - "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella." The show's popularity springs from a wonder-filled book by James Lapine and a stellar score by Stephen Sondheim.

B Street Theatre's Family Series, Northern California's only fully professional, resident theatre for children, is pleased to present the World Premiere of ANANSI THE SPIDER, running October 3 - November 8, 2015.

Catherine E. Coulson, a stage and screen actor best known for her role as The Log Lady in David Lynch's legendary TWIN PEAKS, and who made her artistic home with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 22 seasons, passed away early this morning in her home after a battle with cancer. She was 71.

Tim Dang, Producing Artistic Director of East West Players in Los Angeles, CA, is the 2015 recipient of the Zelda Fichandler Award, an award to recognize an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre.  The $5,000 award, given by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, heralds both accomplishment to date and promise for the future, and lauds deep commitment to a community.

Joe Dowling, the Guthrie Theater's recently retired artistic director, was honored at the 2015 Ivey Lifetime Achievement Award, the celebration of Twin Cities theater, on September 21 at the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. Critically-acclaimed actor Mikell Sapp received the Emerging Artist Award.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

The Chicago Public Library Foundation and the Chicago Public Library have announced that the 16th annual Carl Sandburg Literary Award will be presented to legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Universally heralded for his immense contributions to musical theater in a career spanning more than 50 years, Sondheim will be honored at the Carl Sandburg Literary Awards Dinner Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at The Forum (725 W. Roosevelt Road) on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Bucks County Playhouse producers Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser just announced the 2nd Annual Oscar Hammerstein Festival -- named in honor of the master lyricist who wrote some of America's most beloved and recognizable musicals at his family farm in Bucks County.

Among them, the company can claim 18 Tony Awards, 4 Pulitzer Prizes, 6 Pulitzer finalist distinctions, 3 Emmy Awards, and 2 Academy Awards; to list all their honors would take several pages.

A star-studded West End cast of over 50 principals, a 40-piece orchestra led by Gareth Valentine and an ensemble of more than 50, including a chorus from ArtsEd Musical Theatre, will celebrate the songs and shows of Stephen Sondheim in HEY, OLD FRIENDS! An 85th Birthday Tribute to Stephen Sondheim, at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Sunday 25 October.
