The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is proud to present a concert that features Michael Wilson, Andrew Simon, Benjamin Moermond and Lin Jiang, four of the principal players of the orchestra. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

Despite an earlier report from the Hollywood Reporter, it has been reported that Academy Award-winner Rita Moreno (West Side Story) will not join the cast of the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, In The Heights, after all.

Sanchez, Co-Founder of the Boyle Heights Museum and a USC Professor of History and American Studies, announced today they will present their third exhibition for the Boyle Heights Museum, ROYBAL: A Multi-Racial Catalyst for Democracy, to be housed in the Jean Deleage Arts Gallery in the lobby of CASA 0101 Theater, 2102 East First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA 90033. The New Jersey State Council on the Arts has named Allison Tratner as the new Executive Director. The final vote confirming Ms. Tratner as the Executive Director was made yesterday during the Council's public meeting at Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood.   The news was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, which included members of the public, artists, and leaders in the field of arts and culture.

In the Heights is an original musical that is set over the course of three days, involving characters in the largely Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City. Originally conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda during his sophomore year at Wesleyan University, the musical had its world premiere through their student theater company in April of 2000.

This year, Telemundo's Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) will celebrate the contributions of Latinas in music. The three-hour special will present a series of vignettes that will feature singers who have paved the way for new generations. Through key performances of the evening, the show will also focus on those artists who are reaching new heights and creating an impact in today's music world not just by themselves but through innovative collaborations. In addition, in an unprecedented move, the entire show will be hosted by a formidable group of women, as Aracely Arambula, Becky G, Gloria Trevi, Leslie Grace and Roselyn Sanchez take center stage as the official emcees of the coveted awards show that will broadcast live on Thursday October 25, 2018 at 8pm/7c, preceded by the one-hour carpet pre-show 'La Alfombra de Latin AMAs' at 7pm/6c. Anthony Ramos has been tapped to star in the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit 2005 Broadway musical, In the Heights, according to Variety. 

"Sex Status 2.0" takes Simone de Beauvoir's 1949 feminist masterpiece The Second Sex as a jumping off point for a different take on dance performance. Created by choreographer Carrie Ahern in collaboration with performers Carolyn Hall, Kelly Hayes, Donna Costello, Elke Rindfleisch, Anne Parichon, Jennifer Chin, composer and vocalist Starr Busby, lighting designer Jay Ryan, and costume consultant Naoko Nagata; Sex Status 2.0 explores our conditioning as women and what still needs to be uncovered, or shifted. What is authentic femininity? Where does our power lie? What are our deepest desires?
