Marie Antoinette will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) October 26 through November 17. Opening Night is Thursday, November 1. Fort Worth Opera revealed today the names of the composers whose works have been selected for participation in the first season of the company's exciting, annual new works program, Frontiers, making its debut May 6 - 11, 2013. The showcase will present eight unpublished works by composers from the Americas during the last week of the 2013 Opera Festival in the McDavid Studio across from Bass Hall in downtown Fort Worth.

On September 22, following force/collision's 8:00pm performance of the world premiere of Shape by Erik Ehn, there will be a talkback featuring the playwright (Maria Kizito, The Saint Plays), Daphne Brooks ("Bodies in Dissent: Spectacular Performances of Race and Freedom"), Randy Gener (American Theatre Magazine, Critical Stages) and John Moletress (Founding Director, force/collision). La MaMa presents Poor Baby Bree in I Am Going to Run Away, a one-woman musical conceived and performed by Bree Benton, with an original book written by Bree Benton and fifteen archival songs from the golden age of vaudeville (1890s-1930s). I Am Going to Run Away is directed by David Schweizer, with musical direction by Franklin Bruno (on piano), and featuring Karen Waltuch (on viola) and Jacob Garchik (on tuba and trombone).

Following explorations of such jazz masters as Coltrane, Hancock, Monk and Tyner, the adventurous SFJAZZ Collective now sets its sights on the music of the one-and-only Stevie Wonder for its visit to Segerstrom Center's Jazz Series March 23 and 24 in Samueli Theater. The SFJAZZ Collective will perform timeless hits by Wonder including "Superstition," "Sir Duke," "My Cherie Amour," "Visions," "Blame it on the Sun" and "Do I Do" as well as all-new original compositions by Collective members. The ensemble's roster includes tenor saxophonist Mark Turner, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, trumpeter Avishai Cohen, trombonist Robin Eubanks, pianist Edward Simon, bassist Matt Penman and drummer Eric Harland. Alto saxophonist Antonio Hart will substitute for original Collective member Miguel Zenon who is on paternity leave. A free Preview Talk with Bubba Jackson, host of Jazz at Six on KKJZ-FM, will take place before the first performance on March 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Samueli Theater.
