Saint Michael's Playhouse Stages WAIT UNTIL DARK, Now thru 7/11

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the July 1st opening of Jeffrey Hatcher's area premiere adaptation of Wait Until Dark, written by Frederick Knott at Saint Michael's Playhouse (tonight, July 1 - 11). Directed by Sarah Carleton the cast features Abby Lee as Susan, John D. Alexander as Roat, Christian Kohn as Mike, Bill Carmichael as Carlino, David Rossetti as Sam, and introducing Jillian Kenny as Gloria.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Nicolas King in concert on Sunday, June 14. Nicolas performed 'Shakin' the Blues Away!' - a collection of 'feel good' songs from the worlds of Jazz, Pop and Broadway. The show was under the baton of musical director Mike Renzi and his trio, Ray Marchica on drums and Tom Hubbard on bass. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

Pianist Dick Hyman to Salute Al Hirschfeld at 92Y, 6/10

Wednesday, June 10 at 8PM, 92Y presents Drawing Music - Hyman's Piano Meets Hirschfeld's Pen. Legendary pianist Dick Hyman will perform music inspired by Al Hirschfeld's magically inked images of Broadway shows and music stars, while a selection of these drawings is shown on stage. Louise Kerz Hirschfeld, president of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and David Leopold, Creative Director of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, will discuss the life and work of this original and iconic artist, and the stories behind his drawings. Rubicon's Summer Youth Program presents The Drowsy Chaperone, the Tony Award-winning musical with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison based on a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. With direction by Brian McDonald, musical direction by Miriam Arichea and choreography by Carolanne Marano, The Drowsy Chaperone features over 25 local youth performers in a production well suited for children, adults and families. Opening today, August 13th and running through Saturday, August 16th, performances of The Drowsy Chaperone begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and continue 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, 8 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday.
