Haven Theatre Chicago follows their hit run of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with The Wedding Singer, now through November 17, at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Based on the 1998 romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, The Wedding Singer is directed by Jess McLeod, music directed by Kory Danielson and choreographed by Jim Beaudry. Broadway-bound director Michael Mayer was at last night's BIG FISH opening to celebrate with his past colleagues, and while he was there he revealed some of his history with his upcoming show- HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. He told Richard Ridge: 'In fact, I was the director that John Cameron Mitchell started working with a million years ago on it, but I had a show called Triumph of Love that happened at the same time so I couldn't move on with it. So there is this great feeling of coming full circle.'

On his recent weight loss, he commented: 'As Barney I'm all shoulders and arms and chest, but as Hedwig I'll be all legs and butt and back. Like Cyd Charisse.'

Preview performances are Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 17 - Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m, Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. Preview tickets are $20 and regular run tickets are $42.
