This week marks the beginning of what has become an enduring tradition for Playhouse Square, as they launch their annual ?Cinema at the Square.? For the next two weeks, fifteen classic films will be revived on the second biggest screen in the Cleveland area (the local Imax is bigger but, by the same token, they aren?t going to be running ?Gone With the Wind? anytime soon) at Playhouse Square?s Palace Theatre. Fifteen dollars will get you six tickets to the films of your choice, or you can pay five dollars at the door to films that are guaranteed memories in the making.

Reprise Theatre Company will present a month-long Richard Rodgers Celebration October 2-November 2 in a variety of venues across Los Angeles. The series of concerts, symposiums, staged readings, screenings and cabarets will explore the diversity and scope of the work of one of the most important figures in the American Musical.

On Friday, May 15th 2009, Scott Schechter died of a sudden heart attack. Scott was instrumental in many re-releases of Liza and Judy's work and was spearheading the upcoming release of Judy & Liza Live at the Pallaium CD when he died. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 1PM at The Wonder Bar on 1213 Ocean Ave in Asbury Park, NJ. 732-502-8886.
