Tom Hiddleston Will Lead BETRAYAL in Pinter at the Pinter Season

Forty years to the day of the first ever performance of Harold Pinter's Betrayal on 15 November 1978, The Jamie Lloyd Company announces that Golden Globe, Olivier and Evening Standard Award winner Tom Hiddleston will play Robert in Jamie Lloyd's new production at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 5 March 2019 (press night 13 March) for a strictly limited season ending on 1 June. Further casting to be announced.

The Hunter Theater Project at Hunter College (President, Jennifer J. Raab) announced a two-week extension today for the critically acclaimed New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA, directed by Richard Nelson, at the Frederick Loewe Theater (E. 68th Street between Lexington and Park Ave). Translated by Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky, and directed by Nelson, UNCLE VANYA began performances on Friday, September 7 and was originally scheduled to run through October 14.

The Orchestra Now (T?N) will launch its 2018 fall season with two concerts in its popular Sight & Sound series at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The opening performance on September 30 is Mahler and the Feminine Ideal, juxtaposing the works of Klimt, Schiele, and Picasso with Mahler's Kindertotenlier sung by baritone Michael Anthony McGee. On November 18, the second program features Avery Fisher Career Grant winner pianist Orion Weiss in an afternoon of Chopin, Delacroix, and theRomantic Impulse.

With Holy Sh!t - the inaugural production in the newly refurbished theatre - in rehearsals, Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham today announces the full cast for the world premiere of Stephen Sharkey's adaptation of Zadie Smith's White Teeth - Ayesha Antoine (Irie Jones), Michele Austin (Mad Mary), Philip Bird (Des/Marc Perret/Marcus Chalfen), Ayesha Dharker (Alsana Iqbal), Naomi Frederick (Ruth/Poppy/Joyce Chalfen), Tony Jayawardena (Samad Iqbal), Richard Lumsden (Archie Jones), Karl Queensborough (Anthony /Denise/Josh Chalfen), Sid Sagar (Magid Iqbal), Amanda Wilkin (Rosie Jones), Assad Zaman (Millat Iqbal), and actor-musicians Matthew Churcher, Nenda Neurer (also Clara Jones) and Zoe West. The production opens on 5 November, with previews from 26 October, and runs until 22 December.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has just announced that Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will return to the Broadway stage when she assumes the role of Mrs. Higgins in its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher, beginning Tuesday, September 11 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Diana Rigg will play her final performance as Mrs. Higgins on Sunday, September 9.

 Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab announced today the inaugural production of the Hunter Theater Project, the New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA at the Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College (E. 68th Street and Lexington Avenue), directed by Richard Nelson. Translated byRichard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky. This production is the first time renowned Russian literature translators Pevear and Volokhonsky will have a work premiere in New York City, following the show's world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego, California. Previews for UNCLE VANYA begin Friday, September 7. The production runs through Sunday, October 14, with an official press opening on Sunday, September 16. Tickets are on sale now.

Keith Allen, Phil Davis, Paapa Essiedu, Rupert Graves, Gary Kemp, John Simm and Maggie Steed have joined the extraordinary company of Pinter at the Pinter, the unprecedented season featuring all twenty of Harold Pinter's one-act plays, running from September 2018 to February 2019, to mark the tenth anniversary of the Nobel Prize winner's death. The plays are directed by Jamie Lloyd, Patrick Marber, Ed Stambollouian, Lyndsey Turner and Lia Williams, with design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark and Richard Howell, and sound and music by George Dennis and Ben & Max Ringham. The Orchestra Now Announces 2018-19 Performance Season

The Orchestra Now (TON), the visionary orchestra and master's degree program founded in 2015 by Bard College president and conductor, educator, and music historian Leon Botstein, will open its fourth season on September 15, 2018. Five individual series and two special events will present 17 different programs offering innovative combinations of familiar and lesser-known repertoire through May 19, 2019. To date, the young members of TON have performed close to 100 concerts for more than 35,000 New Yorkers.
