Leave it to Lin-Manuel Miranda to offer a little light in the darkness. This afternoon, offering a brief respite from the inaugural coverage, the composer surprised fans on social media, dropping a series of previously unheard demos from his hit musical, 'Hamilton' in a flurry of tweets.

Lin-Manuel Miranda just shared a demo of his first draft of 'Right Hand Man,' made in Logic Pro and written and recorded in 2010, with words and music by, of course, himself. Listen below!

HAMILTON creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter today to express his gratitude following the news that President Obama had commuted the sentence of Puerto Rican nationalist Oscar Lopez Rivera. Miranda said he would star as Alexander Hamilton if Rivera were to attend the musical in Chicago.

Today, January 16, Brandon Victor Dixon, currently starring as Aaron Burr in Hamilton on Broadway, celebrated Martin Luther King Day with hundreds of NYC public school children at the Chess in the Schools  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Chess Tournament at PS 11 in Chelsea. Dixon, who played chess as a student himself, addressed the kids  at the tournament's awards presentation.
