Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group's upcoming production of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's 'Side Show' enters its fourth week of rehearsals at a studio in Makati City. The show will premiere on August 31, 2018, at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, also in Makati City.

Dan Fishbach (last season's award-winning Jacques Brel Is Alive and Living in Paris) returns to the Odyssey Theatre to direct a revival of Side by Side by Sondheim, set to run July 21 through Sept. 16 at the Odyssey's venue in West L.A.

REPRISE 2.0 (led by Producing Artistic Director Marcia Seligson), in association with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT) chaired by Brian Kite, presents its inaugural production of Sweet Charity.  Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall with musical direction by Gerald Sternbach, the classic Broadway hit plays through July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Live @ Peck Pavilion returns to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts grounds this summer. The season will run from July 5 through August 25 with each day of the series featuring a different program focus. Optimist Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park returns Peck Pavilion from July 5-21 with their presentation of King Lear featuring local favorite Jim Pickering in the title role. BroadwayWorld has just learned that following on the heels of NBC's critically acclaimed rock musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert' comes the true original rock musical, 'Hair Live!,' which will be broadcast in the spring of 2019 in front of a live audience. 

Casting is now complete for the inaugural REPRISE 2.0 production of Sweet Charity. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the classic Broadway hit plays from June 20 to July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. 

From May 16 to 27, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present the world premiere production of 'Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water' by Michael A Jones.  The play is winner of the troupe's 2017 Emerging Playwrights Competition.  Called a 'drama with comedy,' it is a story of displacement of Black families and the forces that lead to it in modern America.  Performances are at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place.

This Sunday, May 13th, Damn The Light Productions presents a one night only tribute concert to The Who's Tommy at Duane Park. The evening will open with a "Decades" tribute highlighting some of radio's biggest hits from the 1960's through the 1990s. The 10:00pm set will star students from Marymount Manhattan College Theatre Arts Department "Pop/ Rock Performance Lab' created and taught by MaryAnne Piccolo and Mike Greko. Student performers include Sarah Bialkin, Julia Bustos-Gusse, Hobie Henson, Troy Lingelback, Nick Lynch, Jacki Manno, Eilis Quinn, Courtney Silber, Bryce Valle, Victor Vazquez, Maddy Waters, Olivia Whitehouse, Rikki Zielgelman.
