Theatre 55 is a new theatre company which focuses on adults over 55 as its primary artists and performers. January 31, 2019 will mark their inaugural production of the 1968 smash musical sensation HAIR - directed by Richard Hitchler, with choreography by Sandy Agustin, and musical direction by Stephen Houtz.

Two theatre greats died in December 2018, both with history at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.  Dancer and teacher Blanche Lund died on December 1, 2018, and composer Galt MacDermot died on December 17, 2018. Because of the holidays the theatre did not have a chance to properly mark the passing of these remarkable people. We will do so now.

Opening on January 18, Hart House Theatre presents the rock musical Hair, an iconic work that celebrates its 50th anniversary at a time of new-found social justice movements and civil unrest. Directed and choreographed by a multi-faceted talent, Julie Tomaino, featuring showcase performances by trained, emergent talent, and supported by a professional production team, Hair is sure to knock your proverbial socks off.

The infectious spirit of living life to its fullest is the message in 'Zorba,' the 1968 musical that starred Herschel Bernardi. Musical Theatre Guild's staged concert version of the musical starred Michael Kostroff in an exuberant display of hedonism that is welcomed after the tragic Borderline shooting in Thousand Oaks and subsequent fires in Southern California communities.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce its new exhibition and artist workspace at 80 White Street in Lower Manhattan, which will be known as The Block Gallery. The name was chosen in honor of the late Bronx Museum Executive Director Holly Block. It will welcome the first artist residents in January, 2019.

Daniel Berrigan's THE TRIAL OF THE CATONSVILLE NINE is designed to arouse contemplation and to challenge our sensibilities and sensitivities. It is a work of intellect, written by a man of the Word with a poetic talent. In service to its message, the cast of iTheatre Collaborative's production has ably and forcefully delivered the Goods. Runs through November 3rd on the Kax Stage at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.

Julien's Auctions, the world–record breaking auction house, has announced that ICONS & IDOLS: ROCK–N–ROLL their two–day music extravaganza to take place Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 live in Hard Rock Café in New York and online at www.juliensauctions.com. The all star lineup featuring hundreds of historical items of music giants Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, The Beatles and more joins the previously announced auctions of Bernie Taupin and Aretha Franklin.

Celebrating their 50th Anniversary as a band in 2018, Nazareth mark the occasion with a hard rocking new album, “Tattooed On My Brain” Out now through Frontiers Music srl. The album is available on CD, LP, and digital formats. 'Tattooed On My Brain' is their 24th full length album and the first to feature new vocalist Carl Sentance (ex-Persian Risk, Don Airey).

Hair is a great big hit on the symbolic and mostly imaginary bong that is theater in Music City - or anywhere else artists come together to share the largesse of their own indomitable spirits. The resulting production will leave you inspired, maybe even more readily equipped with the realities of life in the 21st century, which proves that no matter how much times have changed, they remain stultifyingly the same. While our prejudices and biases may have been altered by the social upheaval of the 1960s and the decades that followed, introspection reveals that we only have refocused our baser instincts on issues of equal significance.

More than 60 Chicagoland students make their Goodman Theatre debut on the mainstage to conclude summer programming-PlayBuild Youth Intensive and Musical Theater Intensive-on August 10 and 11 at 7pm. The free programs were taught over a course of seven-to-eight weeks in the Alice Rapoport Center for Education and Engagement.

Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - welcomes back Stephanie's Child, New York's premier pop-vocal drag trio, for their one-year anniversary concert on Friday, August 10 at 9:30 PM. Hailed as one of the "Best LGBT Events in New York" from Time Out New York, the Stephanie's Child residency features tight harmonies, pop hits, hilarious original parodies and surprise special guests.
