New York's acclaimed Public Theater, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, recently announced that 'HAIR', the 2009 Tony-Award winning musical, will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Wednesday 14 April 2010, following previews from 1 April. Tickets went on sale Friday 20 November 2009.

The complete Tony Award-winning, Grammy Award-nominated Broadway cast of HAIR gave a performance from the smash hit musical on New Year's Eve in the heart of Times Square.Diane Paulus, Director of HAIR, staged the number, which will air on NBC's 'Countdown with Carson Daly.' Other musical guests on the broadcast include Green Day and Rhianna.

Last night, cast members from HAIR participated in the City Harvest canned food drive last night. The truck was parked in front of the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from 4 to 7 and cast members were there to greet fans dropping off food. With this, the cast continues its commitment to community service.

The producers of HAIR have announced the addition of Vanessa Ray to the 'Tribe.' Ray, making her Broadway debut, temporarily replaces Allison Case in the role of 'Crissy' until January 2010. HAIR began preview performances on March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and opened to rave reviews on March 31, 2009. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle also honored the production with their 2009 award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical.

In an unprecedented move, the producers of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical have announced they are canceling the show's Sunday, October 11th performance so that the entire cast can join the National Equality March in Washington, D.C. The announcement was made this evening by the cast of HAIR at a spirited rally in Los Angeles (the entire company of HAIR has traveled from New York to California to appear on tonight's broadcast of 'The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien').
