Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival will present Open Captioned performances in its upcoming 27th season as part of an ongoing commitment to broadening the Festival's accessibility offerings. In addition to American Sign Language-interpreted and Audio Described performances, new Open Captioning and additional Relaxed Performances align with PSF's mission "to enrich, inspire, engage, and entertain the widest possible audience."

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, May 14, 2018. The evening will celebrate Academy Award-winning actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty, Tony Award-winning Broadway and film director Kenny Leon, currently director of Children of a Lesser God on Broadway, two-time Tony Award-winning actress, singer and dancer Chita Rivera, and Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award and Emmy-nominated actress Uma Thurman. Mr. Beatty, Mr. Leon, Ms. Rivera and Ms. Thurman will be awarded The Actors Fund's Medal of Honor. The event begins with 6 pm cocktails followed by a 7 pm dinner and tribute at the New York Marriott Marquis. The evening will include special tribute performances by guests to be announced.

Melvin Brewing Presents Ghostface Killah, GZA, Killah Priest and More

Talk of Melvin began on the West Coast, but the heart of Melvin started beating in the small mountain town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and has since spread nationwide.  Jeremy Tofte founded Melvin Brewing in 2000.  He was working as a waiter at a Thai restaurant called "Thai Me Up" and just like a lot of  new restaurants, it went under.  He talked the landlord into giving him the keys to the space.  After Selling his 1984 Mercedes wagon to pay for a 20 gallon brewing system and a little polishing up, he re-opened and immediately started ruining people's vacations by playing loud hip hop (mostly Wu-Tang Clan) and Kung Fu movies alongside beers from the future, which became the birth of Melvin Brewing Company.

New York City staple Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Tony & Emmy Award winner Stockard Channing will return to the New York stage in the Off-Broadway premiere of APOLOGIA, by Alexi Kaye Campbell (The Pride). APOLOGIA will be directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (Bad Jews, Skintight). Channing returns to the role of "Kristin" in Apologia following an acclaimed run in London's West End in 2017.

As the celebrations, performances, and successes of The Cleveland Orchestra's Centennial Season continue toward its conclusion this spring, the Orchestra has announced details of its 101st season for 2018-2019. Aspects of the celebratory spirit continues - with a 100th Birthday concert in July for the Cleveland community and Centennial Gala in September. The new season also extends the dedicated week-to-week work, creativity, and artistry required to continue being one of the world's best orchestras year after year.

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the Globe-commissioned world premiere of Anna Ziegler's new American play The Wanderers, directed by Barry Edelstein, the Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director. The Wanderers will run April 6 - May 6, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run April 6-12. Opening night is Friday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m.

Jeffrey Kahane to Make Conducting Debut with Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra with Jalbert West Coast Premiere

Jeffrey Kahane makes his first appearance in his new role as Conductor Laureate of Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) with the West Coast premiere of Pierre Jalbert's Violin Concerto, featuring LACO Concertmaster Margaret Batjer, on Saturday, March 17, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, and Sunday, March 18, 2018, 7 pm, at UCLA's Royce Hall.  A co-commission by LACO, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Milwaukee Orchestra, Jalbert's work was written for the concertmasters of the three orchestras.  Kahane, who stepped down as LACO Music Director in June 2017 after a 20-year tenure, also conducts Respighi's Three Botticelli Pictures, a vivid aural impression of three of the Renaissance master's famous paintings, and continues LACO's multi-year exploration of Haydn's famed 12 London symphonies with Symphony No. 99 in E-Flat Major, the seventh in the sequence.
