For one night only, Dessoff presents We Remember including Mozart's Requiem and contemporary choral works reflecting on the lives of President John F. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra takes concertgoers on a swashbuckling, sea-faring odyssey in "Pirates on the High Seas," its first family program of the season, with two performances on Saturday, November 26, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Featuring music from the blockbuster film Pirates of the Caribbean, Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade, Rodgers' Victory at Sea and more, this musical expedition explores how composers depict adventure and bravery on the high seas.

Back in February, BroadwayWorld reported that stage and screen star Kevin Kline would star in The Acting Company's reading presentation of Noel Coward's charming comedy PRESENT LAUGHTER. Now he's taking the show to Broadway, according to the New York Times.  

Pablo Heras-Casado will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Bartok's Dance Suite; Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, with Concertmaster Frank Huang as soloist; and Dvo?ak's Symphony No. 7, Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 28 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m.

The Blue Hill Troupe, now in its 93rd season, offers a fresh new take on Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Pirates of Penzance.' This perennial audience favorite tells the story of a pirate named Frederic, who at the age of 21, has completed his apprenticeship and is ready to seek his fortune as an upstanding citizen. Opens Nov. 11, 2016.

THE OCEAN GROVE CAMP MEETING ASSOCIATION (OGCMA) will close its 2016 season of Great Family Entertainment today, September 10th with 'BRAVO, PUCCINI: AN EVENING OF OPERATIC SOLOS, ARIAS AND DUETS,' featuring The Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea conducted by New Jersey's beloved Father Alphonse Stephenson and narrated by the acclaimed musical educator Edward Perretti.

In his first appearances as The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, violinist and conductor Leonidas Kavakos will make his Philharmonic conducting debut leading and performing J.S. Bach's Violin Concerto in D minor (reconstructed), BWV 1052, and conducting Busoni's Berceuse elegiaque and Schumann's Symphony No. 2. The program takes place Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, October 22 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.

The New York Empire presented by Citi today unveiled a diverse star-studded lineup of National Anthem singers for its inaugural Mylan World TeamTennis presented by GEICO season at the venerable Forest Hills Stadium at The West Side Tennis Club, the home of the US Open for over 60 years. The Empire season will open on Sunday, July 31, against the five-time defending champion Washington Kastles, with six total home dates on the schedule.
