CAPA's 2009 Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 39th anniversary with a lineup of classics, cult favorites, and most beloved films. The 2009 series will run July 17 - August 30, at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), and is made possible through the generous support of National City, now a part of PNC.

South Coast Repertory kicks off the 2009-10 Season with Putting It Together, a compilation of Stephen Sondheim songs, that the composer put together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, creating a narrative set at a cocktail party in an elegant Manhattan condo. The non-traditional musical, led by Broadway and television star Harry Groener, has a cast of five (a glamorous but slightly jaded couple, a starry-eyed younger couple and a savvy observer) who sing more than 30 songs that reflect their lives, lifestyles and moods of the moment. Some of the songs will be familiar, some less so, a few were even cut from their original musical scores, but they are all sophisticated, smart and drop-dead droll. All, in other words, Sondheim.

'LOVE SONGS' continued to seduce New Yorkers every Saturday evening for the last number of weeks, on Saturday, March 28th, Barbour played his final concert before heading into rehearsals for Paper Mill Playhouse's 1776. See Bob Run is directed by Benjamin Watson and features Lisa Snyder as 'Bob'; Wild Abandon is directed by Ruis Woertendyke and features Max Woertendyke as 'Steve.' These solo-performer one-acts will run in conjunction. Performances begin Wednesday, January 7th for a limited run through Saturday, January 24th at Center Stage, NY (48 West 21st Street, 4th floor).
