After selling out in just 90 minutes at the Chocolate Factory, Funny Girl will transfer to the Savoy Theatre for a limited 22 week run.

Starring multi award-winning stage and screen star Sheridan Smith, this musical classic tells the fascinating bitter-sweet story of Fanny Brice (played by Smith), whose vocal talents and comedic ability see her rise from Brooklyn music hall singer to Broadway star, and her tempestuous relationship with gambler Nicky Arnstein. Featuring some of the most iconic songs in film and theatre history, including "People" and "Don't Rain On My Parade."

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Sheridan Smith has taken a leave of absence from Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre due to 'stress and exhaustion.' Today, producers have confirmed that the actress will return to the West End production tonight in the role of Fanny Brice. Natasha J. Barnes has subbed for Smith since the end of May.
