Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the creative team for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story. It features the work of Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett and music supervisor Tom Kitt, the Tony-winning composer who provided string arrangements for the band's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.

Acclaimed film and stage actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard have joined the cast of Classic Stage Company's upcoming new production of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA, starring Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare as Vanya, and directed by Austin Pendleton, it was announced today by CSC Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Variety reports that Frank Langella, the 2007 Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Play for his work in Frost/Nixon, will return to the Broadway stage in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of A Man For All Seasons.

Frost/Nixon, the new play by Peter Morgan, directed by Michael Grandage, will open on Broadway this spring starring Frank Langella (as President Richard Nixon) and Michael Sheen (as Sir David Frost).
