Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show. Thus, we are happy to present a new feature: The Nashville Theater Calendar, a comprehensive - maybe even exhaustive (lord knows we're exhausted from putting it together, gathering all the info from all over the interwebs!) - listing of theatrical openings for the 2015/16 season. We'll update the calendar every Monday, clearing out the shows that have closed and adding additional information on the shows still to come.

The North Carolina Symphony, led by conductor Stuart Chafetz, will perform some of the greatest hits from the 1980s as part of its 2015 Rex Healthcare Summerfest Series at Cary's Booth Amphitheatre tonight, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. Joining Chafetz will be vocalists Joe Cassidy and Nicole Parker.

As part of the New York Philharmonic's celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of its historic Concerts in the Parks, the Philharmonic will present Share the Stage in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island, inviting local musicians to perform on the stage in their home boroughs before the Orchestra's performances.

Tonight, June 5 and June 6, 12, & 13 at 7:30pm, Utopia Opera presents Richard Strauss' ground-breaking and thrilling Ariadne auf Naxos in a staged production performed with an 18-piece orchestra at the Ida K. Lang Recital Hall at Hunter College (695 Park Avenue). Utopia founder and artistic director,William Remmers, conducts while the acclaimed Benjamin Spierman (Indianapolis Opera, Dayton Opera, St. Petersburg Opera, Bronx Opera) directs; costume stylings are by Eric Lamp. 18-piece orchestral reduction by Christopher Fecteau.

Gates open for the concert series at 5:30 p.m. Children 12 and under are free on the lawn.

Capitalizing on the appeal of singing-competition shows like 'American Idol' and 'The Voice,' the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) hosts its eighth annual singing competition, 'O, Say Can You Sing?' tonight, May 28, 2015. Contestants will audition for a panel of three judges for the chance to sing the 'Star-Spangled Banner' alongside the BSO in front of thousands of patrons at the BSO's annual Star-Spangled Spectacular concerts held at Baltimore County's Oregon Ridge Park on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, 2015. The North Carolina Symphony launches its 2015 Rex Healthcare Summerfest Series at Cary's Booth Amphitheatre today, May 23, at 7:30 p.m., with a concert program that features pianist Timo Andres performing Gershwin's incomparable Rhapsody in Blue, the orchestra's performance of Dvo?ak's New World Symphony, and other works by Copland and Sousa that feature "citizen musicians" as they join the orchestra.

Howard Davies will direct Steve Waters' new play TEMPLE, a fictionalised account of the events that took place during the 2011 Occupy demonstration outside St Paul's Cathedral. Simon Russell Beale will return to the Donmar stage to play the Dean having previously starred in The Philanthropist, Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya (for which he won the 2003 Olivier Award for Best Actor). The show starts tonight, May 21, with an official opening slated for May 27. TEMPLE runs through July 25, 2015.

Pack your picnic, grab your friends, and get ready for cool shows on star-filled summer nights! Summer officially begins this Friday for Washington-area music lovers, when Wolf Trap opens the Summer 2015 season on the Filene Center stage at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.

Music Director and Principal Conductor Christopher Confessore has announced concerts and events for the 2015-2016 season.   Maestro Confessore will lead the Orchestra for 23 performances including six subscription concerts and three free concerts.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra today announced an addition to its 2015 summer programs. The Music of Led Zeppelin combines the power of a full rock band with the Baltimore Symphony on Saturday, August 1 at 8 p.m. at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will give aspiring Omaha-area performers a chance to make their 'big break' when the program presents Generation: The 2015 Summer Intensive Tour. BDF's Broadway faculty will work with students in Omaha Monday, June 1 through Saturday, June 6, 2015.

Richmond, CA, May15, 2015–The Oakland East Bay Symphony, the Craneway Pavilion, located inside the historic Ford Point Building on the waterfront in Richmond, and the City of Richmond will again join forces to host a family-friendly Independence Day Celebration led by the Oakland East Bay Symphony and Music Director Michael Morgan on Friday, July 3. The evening will also include pre-performance entertainment, food and fireworks. Craneway Pavilion, located on 25 waterfront acres, delivers spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline, with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the entire event space as well as a 20,000 square foot patio, perfect for viewing the City of Richmond's firework display. The event is free to the public and in the seven years since its inception has become one of the Bay Area's most popular and talked-about Independence Day Celebrations. Paid parking will be available beginning at 5 pm and access to the Craneway Pavilion and Wharf will begin at 6:30 pm. Concert sponsors include the City of Richmond and Chevron, Mechanics Bank is a contributing sponsor and KDFC is the media sponsor. Tickets for the West End production of Motown the Musical, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016, are released for sale today (15 May 2015).  With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.  London previews will begin on 11 February 2016 with press night on 8 March 2016 with the show booking to 22 October 2016.  Casting and further information about Motown the Musical will be released shortly.
