Darien resident, Cassie Carroll, is to play a leading role in The Connecticut Children's Theatre (CCT) at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre's upcoming production of Snow White. This show will take place at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre for a six-weekend run beginning April 13th.

Disney Junior has ordered a second season of 'Fancy Nancy' ahead of its series debut, FRIDAY, JULY 13 (11:00 A.M. EDT/PDT), on Disney Junior, DisneyNOW and Disney Junior VOD. Based on the New York Times bestselling book series by Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser, the animated family comedy centers around six-year-old Nancy, a high-spirited young girl whose zest and enthusiasm for all that is exquisite – including language, nature, art and color – transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, executive vice president, Content and Creative Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide and general manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2017 season of change with the area premiere of Straight White Men by Young Jean Lee. Local director/actor Christie Vela returns to direct for the company after making her acting debut for Second Thought last summer in A Kid Like Jake. Straight White Men begins with previews on Wednesday, April 12 and runs through Saturday, May 6. All performances of Straight White Men will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Straight White Men can be purchased online at 2TT.co.

Written by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and directed by Darryl B. The Cote Saint-Luc Dramatic Society is heading back to the Segal Centre with a production of Fancy Nancy The Musical with book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo and music and lyrics by Danny Abosch. Based on the best-selling children's book of the same name, Fancy Nancy The Musical had an acclaimed Off-Broadway run from 2012-2014, and is currently touring the United States. The Montreal premiere will be playing on the Segal Mainstage from February 26 to March 5, 2017 and is perfect for girls and boys as young as three years old.

In the early 1990s, Roanoke City had the highest teen pregnancy rate in the state of Virginia. Roanoke City has seen incredible progress over the last 20 years and in 2014, a big decrease in teen pregnancy put Roanoke City as 14th in the state out of approximately 130 cities/counties. Roanoke Children's Theatre will shed more light on this issue facing teens with the upcoming production of BABYLAND. There will be public performances of BABYLAND on February 3 and 9, 2017. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theatre at the Jefferson Center (541 Luck Avenue SW).

Main Street Theater's professional Theater for Youth program produces plays based on children's literature for families and school groups and reaches over 130,000 audience members yearly. MST strives to be a theater for all youth and is launching its first ever accommodations performances. Families who need such accommodations as Sensory Friendly performances (including a Quiet Room) for children on the autism spectrum; American Sign-Language Interpreted performances for hearing-impaired children; and Audio Descriptive performances for children with low vision or blindness can now add MST to groups of Houston arts organizations providing such opportunities.
