The 2010 Olivier Awards will take place on 21 March 2010 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, with Spring Awakening, Enron, Jerusalem and A Little Night Music among the standouts of the season with the most nominations. The Laurence Olivier Awards were established in 1976 as The Society of West End Theatre Awards, and Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them in 1984. The Awards are run by The Society of London Theatre but are adjudicated by panels that are equally made up of members of the theatregoing public and experts chosen for their knowledge and professional experience. For the first time, the prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2. The awards celebrate the very best of London theatre and are the highlight of the theatrical year.

The upcoming Broadway production of Lucy Prebble's critically acclaimed play ENRON, directed by Rupert Goold, is proud to welcome actors JORDAN BALLARD (Hairspray), BRANDON J. The 2010 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the most prestigious award given annually to women playwrights, has been awarded to American playwright Julia Cho for her play 'The Language Archive.' Ms. Cho received the honor at a private reception in New York City on Wednesday, March 3. The award of $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning were presented to Ms. Cho by Tony Award-winning director Doug Hughes, one of the distinguished judges for the 2010 Blackburn Prize.

Marin Mazzie has just been announced as joining the cast of the upcoming Broadway production of ENRON, starring as VP Claudia Roe.

The New York Times reports that Gregory Itzin, most famous for his portrayal of Charles Logan in Fox's hit series '24,' will join the previously announced Norbert Leo Butz (as 'Jeffrey Skilling'), Stephen Kunken (as 'Andy Fastow') in the upcoming Broadway production of Lucy Prebble's 'Enron.' Itzin will portray disgraced Enron chairman Kenneth Lay.

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter have announced the latest arrival to Grover's Corners: Oscar Nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road) will assume the role of ‘The Stage Manager' in David Cromer's acclaimed production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, beginning February 23rd at the Barrow Street Theatre. Stephen Kunken (ENRON, Frost/Nixon) continues in the role through February 19th.

Fences, August Wilson's powerful story of a fractured African-American family in 1950s Pittsburgh, will play its final show on February 21.

The upcoming Broadway production of Lucy Prebble's critically acclaimed play ENRON, directed by Rupert Goold, has announced that Noah Weisberg, Rightor Doyle, Ian Kahn, Mary Stewart Sullivan, Madisyn Shipman and January LaVoy have joined the company.

Previously scheduled to close on 8 May, the production will continue to run after this date, with a new cast, until 14 August 2010 (the ninth anniversary of the whistle-blowing letter that precipitated Enron's collapse).

Drama League and Outer Critics Circle nominee Stephen Kunken, best known for his celebrated portrayal of James Reston in Frost/Nixon on Broadway, will assume the mantle of a particularly less honorable historical figure when he takes on the role of disgraced ENRON Chief Financial Officer Andy Fastow in Lucy Prebble's critically acclaimed play ENRON.

In the season finale of ABC's The Deep End, 'White Lies, Black Ties,' starring ENRON's Norbert Leo Butz and CHICAGO vet Billy Zane, the group struggles to close all of their cases before Cliff and Susan's charity gala. Addy and Malcolm must find a way around a deceitful insurance company, while Dylan and Beth fight to keep a young client out of jail for a text messaged photo, and Cliff looks for a way back into Susan's life using any means possible. This finale episode of 'The Deep End' airs Thursday, February 25 from 8:00pm - 9:00pm EST on the ABC Television Network.

The next Olivier Awards will take place on 21 March 2010.

The Times Online profiles writer Lucy Prebble whose play 'Enron' has achieved critical acclaim and is now Broadway-bound. 'Enron' had its premiere in Chichester, has since transferred to the West End's Noel Coward Theatre, and is now up on the marquee awaiting the start of its Broadway previews slated for April 2010 - and all within the span of one year.

The Critics' Circle Theatre Awards 2010 were hosted today by its Chairman, Mark Shenton, theatre critic for the Sunday Express and daily blogger for The Stage website at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. For the sixth year, the awards were presented in association with Nyman Libson Paul Chartered Accountants, leading entertainment industry specialists; and supported by Delfont Mackintosh Theatres and lastminute.com.

A new promotional photo from the West End's production of the play ENRON has appeared in a new Vanity Fair feature. Inspired by the real-life financial scandal of 2001, ENRON, which was commissioned by Headlong Theatre, premiered this past summer at the Minerva Theatre Chichester, and then moved for a six-week run at The Royal Court Theatre where it played through November 8, 2009. The play will open at West End's Noel Coward Theatre later this month.

Lucy Prebble's new play ENRON will play The Broadhurst Theatre, beginning previews on Broadway on April 8, 2010 and opening on April 27, 2010. The marquee is up and ready for the show to move in.

Norbert Leo Butz will star in the role of Jeffrey Skilling, the former president of Enron in the upcoming Broadway production of ENRON.

The nominees for the final South Bank Show Awards for 2010 have been announced, and include An Education and The Seagull stage star Carey Mulligan, and Enron playwright Lucy Prebble. Enron will be making its Broadway premiere this spring. Both are up for The Times Breakthrough Award, which will be presented by Sir Ian McKellen.
