Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell are pleased to announce BROADWAY BARES: CLASSIC, the latest edition of their popular 'Solo Strips' series to be held Sunday, June 6 (9 & 11 PM) at Splash (50 West 17th Street). BROADWAY BARES: CLASSIC will feature strips inspired by favorite numbers from BROADWAY BARES' 20-year history. Headlining the evening will be BARES creator and executive producer Jerry Mitchell, who will take the stage of Splash, where he first created the event in 1992. Other favorite performers set to strut, strip and show that they 'still got it' include: Jennifer Cody (Shrek the Musical), Steve Geary (Contact), Sebastian LaCause (The Rocky Horror Show), Rachelle Rak (Fosse) and more.

Sir_Paul_20010101 Yesterday, June 2, 2010, President Barack Obama presented former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, awarded by the Library of Congress, in the East Room of the White House. The prize, named for American songwriting brothers George and Ira Gershwin, has been awarded annually since 2008 to a musician who has made exceptional contributions to the world of popular song. The prize's first recipient was Paul Simon. Last year, Stevie Wonder received the award.

Million Dollar Quartet has announces its new Chicago cast: Emmy Award-winning actor David Lago (Elvis Presley), accomplished musician/performer Lance Lipinsky (Jerry Lee Lewis), Chicago musician and actor Gabe Bowling (Carl Perkins), and Jeff Award nominee Sean Sullivan (Johnny Cash). The cast also includes Tim Decker ('Father of Rock 'n' Roll' Sam Phillips) and original Chicago cast members Kelly Lamont (Elvis' girlfriend Dyanne), Billy Shaffer (Fluke/Drummer) and Chuck Zayas (Jay Perkins/Bass). The new cast will begin performances on February 3, 2010.
