The Segal Centre for Performing Arts announced today an exquisite lineup of programming for its 2018-2019 season and a new name for its mainstage theatre.

As part of the 2018 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, the International Play Festival will showcase play readings by ten voices from around the globe. With playwrights hailing from four different continents, the Festival aims to enrich awareness of global dialogues, by bridging American audiences and international theatre-makers. All readings will be followed by a discussion with the playwright and director.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC)made its spring announcement of 18 new shows added to the 2018-2019 season, continuing to showcase chart topping musicians, compelling dance companies, groundbreaking storytellers and authors and a wide range of holiday performances, all appealing to diverse audiences. Tickets for all shows go on sale first to LBC members on Monday, April 9 at 12 p.m. and then to the general public on Friday, April 20 at 12 p.m.

The Alhambra Theatre & Dining will kick off its 2018 Alhambra After Dark music series schedule by celebrating Elvis and Buddy Holly. Kevin Mills will return to the Alhambra from February 7 11, 2018 with his award-winning tribute to Elvis in a new show, Elvis is Back! The Rave-Ons, led by one of Alhambra's most popular performers, Todd Meredith, will bring their rendition of Buddy Holly & The Crickets to the Alhambra from March 28 April 1, 2018 in a show entitled, That'll Be the Day. Carriageworks today unveiled a major new commission by renowned German artist Katharina Grosse of a site-specific installation representing the third in the Schwartz Carriageworks series of major international projects. The world premiere of the work titled The Horse Trottted Another Couple of Metres, Then it Stopped is presented free to the public at Carriageworks from 6 January as part of Sydney Festival 2018 and continues until 8 April 2018. Grosse's exciting new work envelopes Carriageworks, responding to the unique industrial architecture and grand scale of the heritage building.
